Anyone have or are familiar with the fairly new Weatherby Hunter model rifle. I did not know it was being made and it is available in standard long action cartridges which all the other Mark V action rifles are not available in. I am interested in a light 30-06 for my SIL and this caught my eye. In 30-06 it is suppose to weigh about 6.2#.

I have a Weatherby Ultra Lightweight 338-06 and have owned a 30-06 in the past and I like the Mark V action, although I know some do not.

I’ve spied that as well. Looks like the equivalent to a Kimber Hunter. Plastic stock with good metal.

Curious about the stock. Is it a bell and Carlson or something along that line or is it just plastic ?

I am curious as well. Weatherby calls it a "Polymer" which to me is a fancy word for plastic. I like Weatherby Mark V six lug rifles but this stock must be incredibly cheap to be able to offer it approximately $700.00 less than any other Weatherby Model with a Mark V action.

Aluminum pillars , I like the rifle. It is tough to find six lug actions used so this might be an easy way to get one. I am sure it is a fine stock. It looks like a Peak 44 stock which are very nice from the ones I have seen in person. They however are 700 bucks more or less, so this is not one of them.

I have one coming in 7mm-08. 6.1# sans scope. Should be a dandy.
