Ok, well that’s just hilarious.

Kingsland, Arkansas, is a tiny little town in Cleveland County, that’s not known for anything really… except being the birthplace of Johnny Cash.

And in honor of the Man In Black, Kingsland’s water tower features a silhouette of Johnny holding a guitar.

However, according to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, somebody recently put a bullet in right in Johnny’s crotch and not the water tower is leaking conveniently from a place that makes it look like Johnny is taking a leak.

Not gonna lie, it’s pretty hilarious to me…

However, Kingsland City Council Member Sharon Crosby didn’t find it so funny:

“Kingsland received a $300,000 grant that we used to entirely refurbish the interior and exterior of the city water receptacle.

After realizing what had happened Tuesday morning, our water department director contacted state and local authorities regarding the vandalism.

At this point we are waiting to hear more from the investigation, but Cleveland County has a very good sheriff’s department. Sheriff Jack Rogers and investigator Gary Young are working hard to find the responsible person.”

And it apparently isn’t the first time it’s happened:

“This happened before in 1993 when someone shot a hole in the tank. He was charged with a class 3 felony and fined $11,000.”

Yup, just because it's wrong doesn't mean it's not funny!

Wonder what it costs to patch a hole and fix whatever liner is inside
one? Do they drain them or use divers?

Got a 100k tank on the ground behind my work, it holds our firefighting water. They have had divers in it several times to patch things.
Cheaper to do that than shut down the plant, drain and refill the thing.

I can't look at it without laughing. Quite the marksman. That said, I hope they catch him.

What caliber would it take to do that?

OK, that's funny...

One end of Ft Bragg, N.C. is sandwiched between the towns of Spring Lake, and Bonnie Dunes/Fayetteville. There's a large water tower just off Ft Bragg in Spring Lake that in about 1977-1978 started leaking kinda like the tower pictured above.
More than once the city limit signs had cardboard taped over them renaming the town "Sprung Leak".

I'd think a 22-250 would do nicely

Edited to add; No experience, mind you...

Money shot right there.

Reminds me of the Calvin and Hobbs window stickers. I'd put a Brandon yard sign under it and start taking pictures.

Perp wasn't some punk holding his 9mm sideways.

Didn't the guy who got drunk and shot the Alaskian pipeline use a .338 win mag to poke a hole in it?

When I was a kid one of the local wild children finished up his meal in the local cafe and walked out and plugged the water tower three times with a 30-06. It sprang three leaks just like that.

That guy now is a successful business man and the county coroner.

Put a rubber on it.....

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Back to the top for a good laugh.
I think even Mr. Cash would have found it funny.
