They kill turkeys well. This is a 20/26” Franchi.

Just picked up a 20ga 26” with black composite stock from Scheel’s. Got it home and the forearm will not seat all the way into the receiver. Took it back to the store as I know the guys in there pretty well and they tried, no luck. While one of the guys grabbed one from the back, I walked over to check the 3 in their rack. All of the 20ga. guns were not properly seated to the receiver, the 3 12ga guns were fine. They have a call into their Benelli rep and are waiting for a call back. I’m looking forward to shooting this gun as it fits me well and a big selling point is the safety is reversible for us lefties!

Anybody else have this problem?

I did not and I’ve had mine for just a bit over a month so assume new production.

I bought one for dove shooting and occasional sporting clays. I got the affinity 3 elite upland model. Sucker is light as a feather. The high rib is a plus for me.

elk,
I had the same problem with mine. I fiddled with it for what seemed like hours before I finally got the barrel to seat fully. It's not a forgiving process. You're gonna' love it once you get it up and running.

Hey slab,
I’ve fiddled with mine for quite a while also. Still can’t get it to seat. I believe the issue is the black spacer on the mag tube. Without it, assembly is easy! If you take yours apart to clean it, does it go back together quickly or do you have to mess with it? I clean my guns pretty regularly and don’t want a gun that I can’t get back up and running quickly!

Mine takes a little bit of work to get back together. The stars must be lined up just right.

Elk,
Can't give you an answer because I haven't had it apart yet. I've only put a little more than a box of #8 dove & quail loads through it shooting hand thrown clays with the lads so it hasn't really been dirtied. A couple of patches down the bore is all I've done to date. Wish I could provide a better answer. Take care.

Problem solved! I guess it’s a known “issue” according to the Benelli rep. He explained to get the forearm to seat properly, you need to give it a few swift whacks with the palm of you hand upwards towards the barrel. I tried it and it works but holy crap, you need to whack it pretty hard! Pretty sure it wasn’t designed to be that difficult to assemble but I guess it works!

Can’t wait to shoot it, it fits me great!

I have an Affinity 3.5 Elite, and with the 28 inch barrel, it feels like I'm shouldering a flag pole. I'm tempted to grab another barrel and find a smith to chop it down to 22-24, wherever a rib support allows, and rethread it for Remchokes or whatever.

I think one of these with a shorter barrel would be a great turkey gun. Need to save up for a spare barrel.
