Starting to look a bit better with better ammo.

Still some tuning to do.

5 shot groups at 50 yards:

Looking promising!

A suggestion when trying different ammos…

Pick an ammo- shoot the whole box. Shoot 10 five shot groups before switching to another ammo. You may see that ammo settle in after as many as 20 rounds.

I do a couple pulls with a bore snake between ammo brands as it seems to help the new brand settle in a little quicker.

Thanks!

I was basically doing the same thing, only no bore snake or cleaning in between types.

I did 2 10-shot groups on another target before shooting those with each type.

Not looking too bad. Did you get your stock fitting problem fixed? Robert has some good suggestions. I have seen issues with accuracy when not seasoning the barrel with different types of ammo. The most pronounced was when I was shooting with Sheister last year. His rifles would take about 15 shots to settle in. I've never noticed that with mine, but I think its because I shoot bullets with similar lube? Hard to say for sure.. I need to try some of that centerX. That seems to shoot well in just about everyones rifles here. Here is something interesting in that regard. I'll label my targets as to how many rounds down the tube or the progression of ammo. Here's how it shot with the SK standard:

Then directly after that 10 shots with a different ammo (federal automatch):

Then after that ammo has settled in:

That's why I like my Kidd barrel..^^

Ah ha. Well that is good. Seemed kind of strange that it may be tweeking or stressing the action?

Because if it fails- you’re putting on a new barrel.

Actually saw that twice at LGS years ago. I’ve never used one since. Do like patchworms though.

So..

Just to be clear- It is not due to any damage the Bore snake it does while actually cleaning , it is due to the potential of it breaking and becoming lodged in the bore?

Lee, have you ever seen an Otis fail. I don't trust the "bore snake' brand. They are pretty light duty. The otis is pretty solid though. I use them a lot in my AR's..
