That should have taken all of 10 minutes to see what happened with all the security cameras in that place. POS cops and Mavericks security. Makes me wonder if the perps paid off and were coordinating with someone on the inside.

He had Dallas tear down a perfectly serviceable
facility to build a plush arena with more executive
suites much as Jones built the new stadium/monument

Let me put my two cents in. If I look back thru the years at all the messed up people I have seen. One pill popping alcoholic comes to mind. I didnt know him but we crossed trails once in a while. I knew people that knew him. He was the worse of the worse. He was also a Dallas LEO.

Very few large, liberal cities have the corner on being the worst….they’re all equally bad. There are a few good but certainly not in the percentages many think. It’s just varying levels of bad…..it’s nothing new, the only thing new is that some that once blindly supported them have removed their rose colored glasses and quit buying the bullshit. 😉

Why the F in 2022 do agencies still not see the need to investigate every missing kid.
So what if many turn out to be runaways. What's it take for them to start looking at video of the arena hall from the head nearest where the kid was seated, then every exit to see who she left with.
I'm not a fan of lawsuits, but I hope her family gets a really good lawyer. If that were my daughter? Dallas police would need to be hiding in the jail.

The NBA is a pit. I went to a Kansas City game as part of weekend entertainment in the middle of a two week training session. That was probably 30 years ago. After that I was absolutely certain I would never go to another. Can’t imagine what it’s like in the cheap seats now much less in the parking lot.

The legal system has failed. A Dallas County grand jury declined to indict a man accused of sexually assaulting this 15-year-old girl. From the Dallas Morning News report … Surveillance video showed the teen leaving the arena with a man, and police said Cartagena then took her to a Dallas home and sexually assaulted her. I used to think police were someone you could go to when you needed help and they would help you. Over the years my impression has changed 180*. Most, not all, but most law enforcement people I have observed seem to have a chip on their shoulder and are looking to arrest someone to assert their dominance and make up for the inconvenience of having to answer a call. The person most likely to be arrested is someone convenient and present. To protect and serve is a fallacy that no longer exists. The new motto is everyone is breaking the law. It’s my job to figure out what you are doing and arrest you for it. I think Randy is an exception.

If she would have screamed the N-word, there would have been 20 security officers, 15 DPD cops, and 5 FBI agents, there within minutes, all getting a hard-on to investigate a hate crime. In fact, that’s probably a good bit of advice to give folks. You’ll draw more attention screaming racial ephithets, than screaming “help” or “rape”, these days…

There is video of her walking across the parking lot with this man. Apparently she left willingly.
What all are the cops supposed to do when a 15 year old girl walks away from her family, and off into the darkness with a stranger.
Yes 15 year old kids do stupid stuff, and maybe she thought she was going to get an hour of hot sex and then return back home, and she got more than she bargained for. But this girl has a loose screw in the brain.

One site that admittingly doesn't look legit, is saying the now 16-year-old girl is missing again... having walked away from a treatment center. This is I guess some 7 months later. Another site is saying that the man charged with being one of those in the video cam footage with the girl came back with a grand jury verdict of not enough evidence to prosecute. What ever happened, sounds like Dallas PD followed their standing rules. That being, that most of these cases between the ages of 15 to 17 are considered runaways and that complaint should be filed at home... so maybe rather than blaming the police, maybe it would be better to blame the City Council.
