Do you want to see the ones that function right, or the ones that don't?

I thought the ejection issue was only with some long actions (not all) and did not occur with any short actions. Seems to me a finnlight in 308win would be a perfect “do all” rifle for just about anyone.

Yes that is correct the 308 action length doesn’t have ejecting issues.

I have never had an ejection issue with a Sako Finnlight, I will add I’ve only owned 75’s. They are/were all great. Still wondering why I sold most of them off

I couldn’t find any with ease. Mine were all in mcmillans. Fine guns, just got bored and moved on. There are a couple I wish I still had. My 300 WSM will stay with me til the end.

Had the first year 300 wsm I got in a trade. Stock ergos were awesome. Trigger was complicated and while very nice fir factory only adjusted so far down. Many say crisp beats light. I really prefer both and am spoiled by a few guns. It camped out in my safe a while and moved on unfired by me. The first year Sako failed to see the WSM being a viable cartridge so to make up the delay in releasing the chamber it was built on the V action the 375 is built on. It would’ve been a sweet gun for long bullets but I was churning guns then if I didn’t immediately use them.

I have an 85 Black Bear in 9.3x62 that definitely has the ejection issue. But the quick, cheap, fix is to just turn the scope 90° so the elevation turret is now your windage turret on the left side of the rifle. Of course, the reticle has everything to do with this "quick" fix. I'm finding out the ejection issue has a lot more to do with the rim thickness of the case than the length of the action because of how "firmly" the ejector will hold the case. I've talked to my gunsmith about this and he claims it's not a big issue to fix. He's very, very good at his craft, so we'll see.

Neither my 25-06 or 30-06 long action had any ejection issues...

This used to be my rifle. It’s a full on custom built by a master gunsmith in Ok. I’ll hav Roy do some digging to find his name. I can honestly say you won’t find a nicer custom Sako out there.

Jason knows I have a weakness for Sako's and a fondness of the 6.5 x 55 SE, so he ambushed me with this one!
