I moved one along here last year I owned for a while purchasing new. Its accuracy and metal work was good (but average), the bolt a little gritty, and trigger maybe the thing I liked the least. The factory wood stock was chunky and checkering low end. I gave the wood a diet, re-checker, and a trigger job that helped some.

I think you're confusing makers. The CZ 70 is a pistol. The Zastava LK M70 is the current iteration of the old Interarms Mk Z.

Mike I'll owe up to never having seen one labeled this way. The plastic butt plate has the CZ emblem. On top the barrel chamber it says ATL Summerville SC and below that M70 Standard ,on the left side of chamber Cal 8 x 57. On the left side of the action behind the front rec ring it has the circle with the cz inside it emblem behind this it says ZAVODI CRVENA ZASTAVA and below that Kragujevac Yugoslavia. Clearly marked CZ on action and stock as well as Zastava behind the CZ emblem. No I'm not confused about what it says but not sure what the story is. Mb

The emblem you see actually says ZCZ for ZAVODI CRVENA ZASTAVA. It happens, probably by design, to look an awful lot like the CZ logo.
Got a buttplate on a Herters J9 that says the same and saw an M70 in the LGS Saturday with the same logo.

Either way it's a neat looking outfit hard used with lots of stupid marks. Has that Bavarian style butt and is a 8x57 also needs a new leaf spring under the flip fold rear sight...mb

Yeah, the last several years has seen imports of the Zastava rifles made for and sold in the European market. These rifles are mechanically the same as the Interarms Mk X but tend to have hogsback stocks, some have DST's, and opens sights other than the Williams that were included on the Mk X. Occasionally you will find one that was built on an Intermediate length action. So, exercise caution if you are shopping for a donor action. The importers/retailers aren't too particular about factual descriptions.

Personally, I like some of the hogsback stocked 8x57's with their open sights. I just never came accross one when I had the cash that was in the condition I wanted. At that time, I just wanted a shooter, not a donor. They were certainly priced right as donors though, especially at today's prices.
