Gooood morning Looking for a respectable outfitter for horseback rifle elk hunt with tents. I can not handle humping 3 to 4 miles from camp anymore at altiudes above 9000 ft. I have 5 pref points.
I do not need or expect.... A 5 star lodge mansion Meals that I can not pronounce. My hand held or 24hr around the clock servant. 400 class bull behind every tree
What I would like To see elk and have a chance at a respectable bull. Good horses Decent camps Decent effort Minimal crowds and pressure
It may sound like I am asking for the world, I am not, Just putting my thoughts out there
Thanks

Look up the outfitters operating on the Bridger Teton National Forest. They all hunt elk on horseback. And have wall tent camps. And the five points you have will make you a shoe in for a General Elk Tag. I bet you can book for next year.

I have hunted with Chamley and am going back this fall. It would be as you described.

Budget ? Good question Let's go a head and say under $8,000. I would like to think, that $5,0000 would get me a decent tent, horse and some edible items for 5 days . Then again with 5$ gas and no food on the shelves maybe $6000. That's not including me putting $5 gas in my truck, any processing fees if I score, any cash tips to the wranglers, ect. How far off am I? Thanks to all
