We have in the family 2 2006 Polaris Sportsmen 500 HOs, an X-2 500 EFI, a 2008 Ranger XP 700 twin, and a 2009 RZR 700. I bought them all new, and the family has used them plenty.
I got the Polaris mostly for the good riding qualities for what's left of my back and shoulders. My only gripe is they're heavy.
Total repairs paid for:
1 500 Sportsman belt
Rt rear axle for the Ranger
New ECM for the X-2. (They replace them now on a recall.)
We don't beat the h
ll out of them, but they take us some h
llacious places that are rough on anything mechanical.
They're American made and a comfortable ride.
In the dead of winter I use my '95 Jeep YJ.
