We have squirrels in these parts that live underground, and eat roots.
They also chew wires under the hoods of vehicles.
A few years ago, getting ready to leave with our Hummer H2, wiper squirters weren't working, nor the passenger side headlight ??
Open hood and find a nest built out of the hood insulating pad, and wires chewed up.
Ok, we are at war !!
I got a squirrel 2 weeks ago, but managed to crawl off. That's when I figured out I needed new rings on my springer.
Fast forward to about 30 minutes ago, I'm standing in front of the sink talking with my wife about the paint we bought for the kitchen, and I happened to look out the window, and saw, what looked like a hose hanging out from under my old Dodge dually.
Then, all of a sudden it retracted, up under the truck???
WTF??
Squirrel !!,!!!
Honey, watch the Dodge, and see if a squirrel bolts..
Grab Hatsan, cock, load, and sneak out the side door. Wife says, it's on the driver side tire.
Got into position, and she said it went back into the motor.
Got a good hold on the corner of the house, looked, blury....
Turn adj objective shorter distance, clear !!
Look at tire, and he pops back on it.
Suppressed air gun is sure quiet !
Squirrel falls dead next to the tire !
Ha !! One less wire chewer in the hood..

I like this pellet gun ! I wouldn't want to be shot with it.
It's powerful !

It woulda hit the inner fender well, and if it went through that, firewall by the steering wheel.
It made quite the whop sound !
Wife heard it in the house.

Shot one off my roof last weekend with my FX Impact .25 - bang flop! I ignored ‘em for a while, but recently noticed one has been chewing on the edge of my siding - won’t pass on shooting anymore.

Got another one, on my neighbors front porch ! Easy 60 yard shot.
Went over to find it over their little wall, but found blood...
Around the front of their garage, under their motor home, and through 2 chain link fences to the back.
Blood in the dirt, to a hole going under their deck.
It'll die down there with how bad it was leaking.

Nice! What pellets are you using?

My Hatsan 125 Sniper does great with the JSB 18.3gr (830 fps), and almost as good with the Crosman 14.3gr (920 fps)

I have several different pellets, but these always shot well, so after the new rings, I sighted back in with these.

I'm going to try the pointed one I have next. A Ballistic tip pellet sound pretty wicked to me ! Wonder if that little plastic point actually improves its on target performance.
I think my model 95 launches pellets at a respectable speed ?

I have been shooting a Hatsam .30 a couple of years, just added a .25 to my collection. Just started getting it "zeroed" today, but I like it so far.

Round or flat point for me when I'm shooting critters.

Several years ago, squirrels fond they could leap from tree to bird feeder and would chew them all to h&&&.

.22 JSB's eliminated all that used that trick and none have tried it since!

Don't know if they learned to avoid that plan from watching those before them hit the ground, but more likely . . .

Like humans, the newer ones are far less athletic.

What are the "real world" velocities you are seeing from the .25 ??

I've got a Hatsan 125 Sniper in 25 cal. With the 25.4gr JSB it gets about 690 fps at 4000' elevation. Down by the sea they seem closer to 750 fps from the reviews I've read or watched.

That should make a mark on a critter. Yep.

Two quick questions:

How accurate is this air rifle? Does it consistently shoot to point of aim?

Can you take off the suppressor?

On mine ?
Suppressor is built in. Might take the guts out of it.
It shoots always to poa.
Haven't shot it for groups since I put the new rings on, but 3 shots about touching at 35 yards (max distance in my yard) was good enough for me.

If ya wanna find out how your air rifle shoots, go with JSB.

They seem ta be the standard, at least pellet-wise.

Heaviest pellet in your caliber.

If your rifle won't shoot those, it won't shoot.
