Found one today and it looked NIB with the exception of the Leupold QR mounts on it. There is not a mark on the stock or barrel.

What's something like this worth?

I’d say 800-1200 off the cuff depending on the wood.

Yeah, I'd say. Sounds like a very nice find. I'm assuming it is blue and wood? Market is pretty good on these right now. Even the XTR sporters are demanding some pretty good money right now. I'd say $1,100.00 minimum. It does depend on the wood, like beretzs said, for sure. And a guy will come back and buy the damn thing if the wood is good enough. Kind of like a woman will. ha ha..

Blued and Wood, I have not taken it apart yet but everything else looks untouched except for Leupold QR mounts. For a Classic Sporter it has nice wood better then most. He had a few XTR sporters, If I had not come home with this one I would have bought a 264 XTR.

I stole it , didn't realize how good a deal it was until I started cleaning it .

Good, I’m glad you stole it! Looking forward to a pic or two of it.

Damn fine rifle OEH. Doesn’t get much better than that. And a 300 Wby is a helluva good score as well. Glad you seem to have gotten a great deal on it.

Hard to tell, but is the recoil pad a add on? My Win M 70 .300 Wby has the standard red recoil pad.

It's got winchester on it, I have had the same rifle in 300 win mag a long time ago and like an idiot sold it. It had the same recoil pad.

You stole it in my book. I can’t trip across clean Classics like that for those prices if I tried.

Out of all the well known and unknown dealers in NC and SC. Only 2 have classics, This guy has more then his share at least for now. He has a lot of pre-64's as well and a few FN Mauser rifles sold by Browning.

After my last 2 experiences with Gunbroker and a large Virginia dealer located right next to I-95 I want to see rifles in person.
