That bullet shot well for me BUT I had way too much damage on pelts. Coyotes often had large softball/double fist sized exits out of my 22-250. I had heard great reviews on it for pelt hunting but not from me. 52gr Speer Flat base HP's are my goto bullet for almost all my coyote rigs.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Not many around here save pelts just want a good kill and no runners so should work good.

Just throwing this out there. Why take a chance on seconds at that price when you can buy Hornady firsts for $.11/bullet:

I like Sierra bullets. However, their seconds are truly seconds.

Maybe a tip of lead which is easily removed or discoloration. This on the SP bullets.

Who knows how many of these we have shot and never had any issues. The plastic tip bullets on the other hand need a bit more sorting.

Maybe a bit tough out of the 223 but just right out of the 22-250.

We get em to spit through deer pretty regularly out of a 223. 50/50 out of the hotter 22s.

Nothing wrong with the Hornady if you are already using them.

I'm 50/50 for hornady, shot placement through the ribs and half will drop right there and some go up to 100yds maybe more. I know it isn't far but when looking through brush it can take awhile. I know I aint saving them but still like to find them and see that I hit them right, also to be sure they are dead.

Won't be running that far w Sierra, at least that's my experience on coyotes.

Move that placement a bit forward and up then there will be no searching.

Those small lead spews that come off of the sierra seconds come off real easy with the fingernail, then the bullet will shoot very tiny holes. I used to live near the Sierra Plant and have shot unold thousands of their bullets with the little spews that did not come off the bullet in their final tumble. I was shooting a Sako Repeater in 22 ppc, and those bullets all shot very tiny bug holes.

Thanks all, so you think they are the 1365 also then. I went ahead and ordered a thousand on Sunday and will be delivered today, seems a bit fast for Midway but I'll take it.

I remember someone on LongRangeHunting doing an experiment HEAVILY distorting bullet tips on various types of tips, plastic/lead/hollow points.
He shot quite a few groups with perfect tips then distorted tips, it made very little difference in group size.

He actually mangled the tips, I thought it would make a huge difference - it didn't.

Everyone who reloads should read Dr Franklin Mann's book, published 100 years ago. Short version: the base matters a lot, the tip far, far less. Gun writers have been redoing his experiments ever since with the same results.

Stick 15-20 in a .30 -.44 caliber bullet box, shake for 10 seconds and voila, tips are gone.

I got the box and about 90% had nipples, watching gunsmoke and twisted them all of in an hour and 10 minutes. Well worth the savings.

I bought them 100 lbs at a time. I learned this trick. Get a Beach towel, the long type you lay on. Put three large double hand fulls in the towel. Now, Grab both end and rock the bullets back and forth in the towel. you will be amazed how many come out perfect after about 10 rocks back and forth.
