That was the mild stuff. Merthiolate was the one that really sizzled on a cut. Yes sir. Although I once saw and heard rubbing alcohol poured onto a guy who got spiked in a baseball game😲😲😲

Nitrotan from Cramer was always a pleasant experience.

He used cyanide, which is restricted, and Flavor-Aid, not Kool Aid (as pictured). Be technical the big picture is he DIDNT USE A GUN

That was the mild stuff. Merthiolate was the one that really sizzled on a cut. Exactly. I was lucky, my grandad knew how to treat a wound more or less painlessly and always effectively,-- wash it out with kerosene and apply Dr. LeGear's Healing Oil.

That was the mild stuff. Merthiolate was the one that really sizzled on a cut. Both Merthiolate and Mercurichrome were banned in the '90's. They contained mercury and were toxic.

One thing about it Any boo boo with either of those daubed on it never got infected and healed at a miraculous rate Lots of good medical things like those that really worked can't be had anymore, kinda like good rat poison and insecticides and herbicides

Iodine was the one that stang somethin' fierce. When I lopped the end of my left middle finger off in a table saw the ER nurse dunked the raw, pulverized end of my finger in a bowl of iodine. Then proceeded to scrape me off the ceiling. I thought nothing could hurt worse. Then they jammed an exceptionally long needle in the web between each finger. Felt like they went clear to the armpit. I would have welcomed mercurochrome at that point instead of that needle.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

We used to get campho phinique in the green bottle doused on our boo boos. Just the smell hurt. Light weight! Campho Phinique was for sissies! The Old Man kept a 6oz bottle of Merthiolate with a little fold out squirt tip, like you fill a Zippo with. It was in the cabinet above the sink. One of us got cut, he’d spread the cut open with the fingers of one hand and literally squirt that damn stuff in! I think he got off on us screaming! Of course, it was funny as hell if it wasn’t you! Watching my brothers squall was sorta entertaining! 7mm
