So i just scoped my .444 and found out that the 265 grain ftx leverevolution stuff (not the superformance variety) shoots better than the 265 grain interlock that ive been using. Im curious if anybody here actually has personal experience using this ammo on big game. Info on the bullets performance would be great. What did you kill, what range, how did the bullet do?

Yes I have shot 1 buck with the ftx. High shoulder shot 35 yards. Knocked him off feet. Regained his feet very brushy and I shot high. Deer moved off 200 yards. Got up out of bed for finisher. First shot blew up and no exit. I shoot the interlocks now

I shot probably 6-8 deer and hogs with the 265FTX and all exited with great blood trails. Most were broadside. H&R Handi Rifle.

Never used the 444 Lever

Used a couple of different Lever ammo
( 357 and 30/30) and didn't do anything
spectacular and different than my own
jacketed loads did. Not as accurate as
the tailor mades.
The #4300 that Hornady discontinued
has always done what I needed to do.
When I run out of those, I'll just have to
do something different
