Saw our first mule deer fawns behind the house a couple days back. Several more and some pronghorn kids too on yesterday's firewood trip.

Yep, all over the place.

Do any of youse guys know if birthing fawns stoves up mama for a day or two? We bumped into a new mom with just one tiny fawn last week, steep as hell, and she flat did not want to get off the road. I shut off the jeep to give her time, but she just ambled down the road a ways, then I rolled the jeep after her a couple times, then finally after 300 yards or so she and fawn eased up the bank, she showing some gimp and stiffness.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

They seem to be out in numbers just north of Katy.

A little doe with triplets was a rare sight.

Popping out all over here in Western Kentucky.

1minute: Great pictures there thanks for sharing.
I live (and Hunt) at 5,400' and have just in the last 3 days started seeing fawn Mule Deer, Whitetailed Deer and Antelope.
Have not been into the high country recently so haven't see any calf Elk as yet.
Yesterday the VarmintWife and I were sitting out on our front porch and in the field adjacent to our home we saw a Doe Antelope trotting directly at us from maybe 600 yards away.
Alongside her was a tiny fawn that was keeping up with her - then as if the mother was teaching the toddler how to turn/veer she began doing so and the tiny fawn was obviously trying to do the same as it ran along beside the mother.
I am so thankful that our recent VERY unsettled weather (snow, sleet, cold rain, high winds and cold nights!) here in SW Montana have moderated and turned more spring like - I am sure this weather normalization has saved hundreds/thousands of fawns and calves hereabouts.
Thanks again for the great photos.
Nature is inspiring to me.
