Arredondo is toast, a guy put in a situation above his ability.

I want to know what the Uvalde Police Chief was doing. The Uvalde Cop who’s wife called him to say she was hit and bleeding out went into the school with that message and we are told he was escorted out by other officers. Sure sounds like a Uvalde Police Chief decision.

And now Uvalde PD has since lawyered up.

I learned a lot about the “bravery” of a lot of cops during the whole Christopher Dorner thing. He was a former cop and was threatening to kill cops. Many cops were to scared to show up for work. The big wig cops had other cops stationed around their house to protect them and their families. Cops rammed and opened fire on at least two civilian’s vehicles because they were afraid it might be him driving it. Both times, it was the wrong make, model, and color. One was two women delivering newspapers.

That’s a tough article to read but I think everybody should.

How can a man stand down and listen when his child or wife are in a life vs death circumstance ? Waiting for orders from a fool. I’ll never understand.

Kinda rare to see a white guy/gal in those local governments now. Hispanics run them.

The frequency and timing of these so called "mass shootings" is such that it is hard to dismiss the idea some of them are planned to further a political agenda. Others are copy cat events intended to get notoriety for the murderer. I think "they" have the ability to identify and coerce the people they can enlist to carry out the shootings. I doubt "they" have the ability to plan every step after the action begins. After the shooting starts the responders have to react to the chain of events.

Dammit thats a tough read. All the more reason why gun control is never the answer. There will be no one there to save you. We are all responsible for ourselves. Feel terrible for those poor children and families

It's a terrible thing for sure. I would love to hear some of your plans of action for attacking a room with a heavily armed psychopath that presumably has numerous children as hostages.

If you send your kids to a school, you have a reasonable expectation that they will be protected there.

Stop making schools soft targets.

The school systems fight any type of hardening it seems. And they REALLY don't want guns in schools to protect against this. Teachers themselves fight that in lots of places.

I am still not sure why the guys in the hall held up and did not enter. Here, with my agency we would not have hesitated to make entry and deal with the issue. There must have been a different dymanmic in place to induce the long pause in the hallway. Still very confusing to me, I cannot wrap my head around that mess. Our response only changes if the suspect is alone and isolated. Other wise if there is anyone nearby that the suspect could harm or has harmed then, the bad guy will be neutralized. The end.

Law enforcement vehicles around here have "to serve and protect" decals on both sides. If there is even one life in danger, they have a responsibility to go in and neutralize the situation. If the perp or perps are the only ones involved time is not an issue.

2. Shoot the punk. If the punk manages to shoot the first cop, then the second cop will shoot the punk.

I think it's safe to say that the so called plan used wasn't the right way to handle it.

Arredondo is an incompetent pussy. Hard to believe that none of the cops said f@#k it and went in the room.

How about start by throwing a gas grenade through the window and breaking open the door real fast. As in it is time to do something even if it's wrong.
