I've been looking at the .277 Nosler 110-grain Accubond bullet as a possibility for pronghorn with my .270 Win. Anyone on here have game field experience with this bullet on big game? I imagine it would be great on smaller species and with the 6.8 SPC, but I'm wondering whether it would hold together on game at .270 Win. velocities.

Gosh. We don't talk about bullets here, do we?

Beans in chili, or no?

Well can't say but years ago I killed the heck out of a small doe using Hornady's 100gr. spire point loaded to top velocities. Parts of it even exited, doe died.

They work, son used used them out of his 270 on antelope and deer for quite a few years. Never recovered any. Not a full power load, running about 2800fps.

Killed three hogs and a deer (doe) with the Sierra 90 gr HP out of my 6.8mm AR.
Killed another hog with a Hornady 110 V-Max

All one shot kills.

Killed a very nice buck with a Sierra 110 BTSP out of my .270 Win.

Open "speed goat" country is often wide open and windy. That's a pretty light bullet for windy conditions, but 110 gr is just fine.

This was fired from a 6.8spc at about 2560 fps into a whitetail about 60 yards away. Entered high on the front right shoulder and ended just under the hide past the last rib on the left side. Traveled about 20” in the deer. Weights 82 grains so Retained over 74% weight

Another deer. This is what was left of a deer’s heart after about a 40 yard shot. Bullet was not recovered.
