We have had our “off the beaten path” thread, but what foods just go together. All the time, no matter what else is on the plate??
For me it’s any sandwich with tomatoes and mayo. I can survive with miracle whip, but prefer the good stuff.
With bacon? Yep! Tuna, ham and cheese, turkey, grilled chicken, burger, chicken salad. Yep again!
Pork tenderloin and chicken fried steak sandwiches rock with them too!
What about the rest of you?

I grew up eating, and still enjoy, fresh white buttered bread with sliced strawberries and sugar on it.
Blew a Mexican's mind one time when he saw me eating it.
I think it's a Dutch thing.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

Over easy eggs, gravy, bacon, and biscuits. Washed down with a hot cup of coffee.

WV locals gifted me some canned Ramps (wild onion). Did them with some canned tuna salad. Dang tasty.
Posted up an oyster pasta 3-4 months ago with Smithfield ham or LOTS OF BACON... cream cheese. Great chow, but it will make you fat.
I eat rice and greens (and some sort of meat or beans) at least once a day... usually twice. Make the same chow for the dogs (without the seasoning... and with extra meat... any type of meat for them... they love bullnose ray wings when I happen on one... venison also). My dogs eat better/healthier than lots of urbanites.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Seltzer water, cherry, orange slice, sugar cube, bitters and brandy - mixed properly is right tasty.

One that comes to mind is fried bluegills with home fries and white bread with butter, for breakfast of course.
The OP is spot on about ‘maters and mayo. They never hurt a sammich one bit. Regrettably, bread, and taters are off the menu for now, but I’m halfway there in only six months. Hope to work them in occasionally once I reach the goal.
What fresh Hell is this?
