I've resisted the transition to bags. Still using the same Plano box for the last thirty years. Anybody still using a traditional 2 or 3-tray box and care to share a pic?

i too have progressed (?) to bags, having gone through a series of boxes that were never big enough. I even go all the way back to metal boxes where the lid never quite matched up well enough with the bottom of the box to allow for the latch to work smoothly.

I use them all as my collection has grown larger over the years, BUT I am still partial to the old aluminum/plastic UMCO boxes... especially my Grandfather's old box that still has his old anise bottle in it and smells like it probably did in the late 50's/early 60's.

Too sentimental for sure BUT if there was a way to take it with me...

Same with his old Evinrude 3 hp Lightwin that I use on canoes and my old 12' Lund... still runs like a charm! I don't seem to catch any more fish with the new stuff, within reason of course, ie. electronic fish finder!

I had went from an old 3 tray Plano that I cracked to bags several years ago, and didn't care for the hassle of digging to find the flat I was looking for, so I went to a Plano 5 tray hip hard box a couple years ago. It's bulky, but I like having all my gear in one place. The built in cupholders are a nice touch, too 😂

When I was a kid I remember looking through the Cabelas catalogs at the 5 and 6 tray boxes... it was like an arms race between Plano and Flambeau lol.

It is a little unwieldy, but I'm in the boat 90% of the time when I am using it so it's not a big deal. The hinges for the trays have gotten a bit annoying of late, though. The plastic pins have worn, so they bind sometimes... gotta give them a wiggle to drop the trays back down.

My saltwater is a mid-80s Flambeau with metal hinges and hardware. Definitely more durable.

I still have some, mostly use soft bags.

I still have fond memories of my Dad’s big green metal Tackle box…

My clearest memory is picking it up after being told not to 4x and spilling it everywhere lol. (Latches weren't tightened but I was determined to help...)

I was given a bag a few years ago, and while I like the lack of bulk, I don't like having to dig around for things in it. Last summer I bought a backpack tackle box and so far am liking it.

My biggest problem with tackle is that I fish many different seasons, types of fish and techniques that it's hard to organize it all so as to have everything I need with me.
