What some folks call dumplings are like the ones Cracker Barrel sells. Looks like just dough strips dumped in the stew to me.
I make a batch of chicken and dumplings about once a year; stew a bunch of chicken, celery, onion and some added broth, then add drop dumplings made with Bisquik. No doubt that’d work with squirrels, rabbits, etc too. When the dumplings are gone, you’re left (assuming there IS any left) some really good gravy for use on biscuits, taters, whatever.
All this wonderful stuff is off limits to Keto Man for now, though I suppose I could put the gravy on mashed cauliflower, if I could afford it in Brandon’s economy. Last time I checked, a frozen bag big enough for one person was over $4, and fresh heads were right up there too.
