Looked to me like they were going the other way when it charged them. No way to tell what led up to it from that video.

I don't know how that is on the humans, they were walking on the boardwalk when it charged. That bison failed reading class. He didn't realize the boardwalk was like 'time out'.  The boardwalk was covered with people, so it's not like they were doing anything risky. What would you have done in that situation? The boardwalk is not a safe zone. Wildlife doesn't know what a boardwalk is. Just because the boardwalk has other people on it does not make it safe or that those other folks have a brain. If a critter is on the boardwalk ya go the other way. Yeah, the boardwalk wasn't covered with people. It looked like it was the guy, the little kid, and possibly an older woman who was originally holding the kid's hand on the boardwalk. A forth guy with his cell phone out walked towards the buff. Not sure if he was part of the group, but all of them had plenty of opportunity to walk the other way.

Just because there is a crosswalk on a street, do you just walk across when you want to..... or do you read the sign and cross when it's safe?

Looked to me like they were going the other way when it charged them. No way to tell what led up to it from that video. They got too close to the critter, It doesn't matter who was going what way, or how many others were nearby, because anyone with half common sense would have kept their distance.
