A 310 grain .44
Used a powder brand I hadn't used before with marginal results. Switching back to my preferred powder for coating.
I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of these things.. A pretty big, heavy bullet for a 44.

Tried to get that bullet to shoot in a 444 Marlin but sadly it dropped at too small a diameter to suit that rifle.

Very nice. I took a pig with that bullet a couple of years ago. Complete pass through at about 40 yards.

A little bit of thin aluminum tape will bump the diameter up three or four thousandths. There’s an article in the process in this month’s edition Guns magazine, or you could Google Beagling a bullet mold.

I don’t own a .44 currently, but that’s one of the bullets that makes me think I need a .44.

Those shoot quite well from my 77/44 at 100 yards even with a light load. However they don't seem to quite stabilize in my 329pd showing a bit of tilt on the targets. I have a bunch cast that I need to shoot up in something. I'd like to find a place that could mill some off of my mold and take the back of the bullet off where the check goes. Make it about a 280g or so plain base. It's hard to find a wider meplat than the lee 310 so I'd like to see the shorter plain base version. I'll have to file the back off of one and weigh it to see where it'd put me.

I just got one of these molds to work up hunting and plinking rounds for a Rossi R92 in 44mag. Hopefully Santa brings me the powder coating supplies I requested.

That's one of the benefits of powder coating. You can add a few thousandths of an inch. My mould casts at .430", but powder coating it gets it to .433", which is the size that shoots the best for me in a couple Marlins.

I've shot them out of a couple handguns and a rifle, loaded to produce 1100 out of a 6" bbl sans gas check, and they do fine. I sized them right. WW+2% tin, water-dropped. No need to get rid of the gas check.
