Does the Winchester Model 70 push feed action suffer from the same ailment which allow the gases from a ruptured case to get to the shooter's face?
I took one HELL of a shot of gas and burnt powder residue to the face years ago.
Mid-80's XTR in .300 Win Mag. Case separated right ahead of the belt (young, dumb and not resizing correctly) and TOTALLY face punched me. I was alone at a remote range and not wearing shooting glasses............... Terrified to open my eyes because I thought I'd be blind. Probably an over-reaction looking back. But it whopped me HARD.
