Check out EuroOptic

Sako and the current iteration of Mauser and then the customs? Do you know where there are some at. I have been looking at Sako's and Mausers but have not found them available until Puddle mentioned EuroOptic had some as mentioned above.

JES Rebores out of any existing 30-06, .270, etc barrel for $250. Kind of a custom option but an easy path. My JES rebored 1903 Springfield 9.3x62 drives nails. I know this isn't really an answer to the OP question, but I wanted to throw it out to those searching for one, as it is an easy option.
Cheers, Rex

Cheers, Rex This is a great solution. I just happen to have two donor Husqvarna 98 Mausers in 8X57 that would be the cat's pajamas. The barreled actions are very good, but the stocks are emmmpfff. I also have a nearly new MK X Mauser stock that can be bedded for the Husqvarnas .

Cheers, Rex I've thought of this. I have an opportunity to get a Mauser in 8mm Mauser and would convert it if I get it.

Cheers, Rex I've thought of this. I have an opportunity to get a Mauser in 8mm Mauser and would convert it if I get it. You might want to take a look at barrel diameter of the potential rebore rifle. I believe JES wants a minimum of .100" barrel wall thickness after the rebore. This means you'd want at least .566" diameter at the point you want the new muzzle to be. Most rifles meet this spec but that results in a truly thin walled barrel. Thicker would be better, IMO. My Springfield is .635" at the muzzle and I consider that about ideal for a Nine Three. My JES rebore in 9.3x62 shoots like this! It was built on a MarkX action.

Ruger made them at one time, though I'm not sure if they still do. Saw one at a gun show a few months ago that was new. I love mine (Ruger M77), very accurate.

Local FFL here has a gorgeous old Mauser with a full length rib barrel in 8mm that would be a proper candidate for a rebore. It has an excellent untapped/undrilled action and the lever floorplate release which swings sideways across the floorplate. A real outstanding beauty.
