This is up in the NC mountains near Tennessee. Last week brother was weedeating. He got a tick bite on his belly. A few days later, he showed it to me. There was no "bullseye." There was a round disc. It was about 2 inch diameter, and a bright rosy red color, no kind of rings the entire disc was red. I told him to get his ass to the doc.

Four days after he got bitten, brother went to the doc. Doc said it was Lyme disease and gave brother a 14 day scrip for antibiotics.
Lyme is no problem if you get on it early.

In the 90s I was in a Minneapolis based band and my rhythm guitarist came down with it. He went from being completely normal to not being able to walk down a flight of steps in about a month. He's better now but it took years. Schit is scary.

Wife and I each got a few ticks up from you in Alleghany county this past turkey season. One bite got really enflamed on the back of a knee. Lyme disease diagnosis. Doxycycline and done. Luckily caught it quickly.

Ticks used to be a huge problem here. Seed ticks you could hardly see would grab onto you by the hundreds. I've seen pictures from the early 1900s of cattle with shingle ticks on them in layers like shingles. We got fire ants 50 some years ago and now have very few ticks.

Over the past few years Lyme disease has become extremely common in the NC Mountains. I just finished my 3rd course of Doxycycline in the past 18 Months. My wife has had to take it once. We bought Guinea fowl to help keep the tick population down.

Fcking ticks - 40, 30, even just 20 years ago, we'd go hunting and no one even mentioned or thought about ticks. Now, if I even take the pups for a short field run, it's best your clothes and boots be doused in Permethrin, or you'll be crawling with 'em.

I've read that Lyme disease is a bio weapon escaped from Plum Island during a hurricane. Hit Connecticut first and then spread from there.

In the late 1980s I met a young woman from that area who had contracted it before anyone knew what was going on with her. She was 18 and felt more like an 80 year old with bad arthritis .

I don't know if the bio weapon story is true or not?

It's not.

Lyme disease comes from parasites being parasites and affixing themselves to our bodies. Parasites carry lots of nasty, nasty, schit and there are plenty of them that remain unnamed and unclassified for decades at a time.

If you live in a Lyme infested area (east coast) you should save any tick you pull off your body.

Lyme is no laughing matter. Some people get it and are sick for a very long time. Advanced cases it seems doctors just don't know how to treat it.

I have Lyme... it sucks.

Been there, took the Doxy.

The tests are not all that great, especially if you have had it before.

My Doc pretty much does a round of Doxy if you have reason to
believe you have it, if you've had it before.

He also told me he almost never sees the bullseye everyone talks about.

"Do not look for the bullseye as an indicator!"

Dose anyone want to share what is the dose of Doxy that you take when you get Lymes ?

Well... we have come to the point.... where... the parasites are killing the host. It's only a matter of time now.

They only win.... when they cheat.
