Hey fellers, going to load some 30-30 for my brother in law, and have no first hand experience with the dirty dirty. Only have loaded for the superior 303 Savage wink.
Has anybody have info on how 150 grain Sierra Game King or Sierra pro Hunter level of cooperation? Hate to waste powder or bullets if results or mediocre at best. if you have tried said bullets, would appreciate your input.

I've always used Win 748 for mine. Use 150 Barnes for hunting and is a performer.

I reach for 3031. 30gr./150, 29gr./170, and 28gr./190.

Don't overlook the Nosler 125 gr ballistic tip. It's an excellent whitetail bullet at 30/30 speeds.

My 1926 F in 303 likes the factory 190 grain Silvertips. It's minute of 7 point at 100.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

It is a ballistic twin of the 30-30.

My 303 SRC loves round nose 150's with 27 grains of 3031. 7/8" 5 shot group at 100 Yards. The group opens up to 1 1/4" with 29 grains of 3031. Shot an elk with the latter load in the neck just behind the head at 120 yards. BANG, flop.

I always got good luck from H4895. I've had even better luck from LVR.

As far as bullets are concerned, I've tried all sorts and finally settled on the recently defunct WIN PP 150 gr FN.

If you like to collect expanded bullets, load 150s. If you like two holes, load 170s
