Keep trying. You won’t always miss😁

I appreciate woodmaster81’s input. We saw more than usual this past fall on the (drought stricken) Canadian prairie. The ducks there did not fare as well.

I’ll have you know that back once in time when I chased a covey up, I actually shot a double 😳. One of two, the other was wild pheasants 😮. And my only triple was on flushed mallards 😆. That I can remember.

And I’m not kiddin’. 👍🏼

Just great birds, seen a decline in them during my lifetime. Agriculture in the 80's seemed to agree with them but few other species. I found this picture of me and the Amazing Cosmo from days gone by. This was a great day in Harding County about 20 years ago I suppose.

Great pic for sure. I have a 2 1/2 year old black lab that I'm training for upland work.

Late '70s, eastern WA, heavy snowfall overnight, dead calm and cold, running traps... jumped a very large covey in the middle of an open field. They launched straight into the sun. All I could see was sparkles. Fortunately it took a lot longer for some to get up out of the snow. I may have killed a couple... snow was over a foot deep.

In the late 70's and early 81's, I hunted Huns when I hunted pheasants here in eastern WA. Always made me so mad that, when I jumped some birds, the shells in the shotgun were the ones that Winchester had not put any shot in. (LOL)
