I picked up my new Browning 1911A1 yesterday.

First impressions are GREAT!

The composite frame is growing on me.

The square trigger guard is actually pretty handy.

Doubt I'll ever hang a light of the rail.

Too hot to shoot much, but I ran 10 quick rounds through it for a function test. 100% so far.

It seems sighted pretty close. I hit my 2" spinner 9 out of the 10 shots. (about 10 yards)

Good enough for almost 70 year old eyes!

Forgot to ask;

Anybody know how difficult it is to remove the magazine safety that won't let the pistol be fired without the mag inserted?

Thanks! Virgil B.

Good looking setup Huntsman 22!

Might you know anything about removing the magazine disconnect so that these Browning 22's can be fired with the magazine removed?

Am thinking It should reduce the trigger pull somewhat also.

Thanks! Virgil B.

mud bogger;

Thanks! That's what I was looking for.

Sounds like a pretty simple "operation" to remove the magazine disconnect.

Huntsman,

Could you repost that photo? It seems to have disappeared. And how did you mount the red dot?

used one of these....

had a local 'smith mill it, and thin it down to fit the rear sight dovetail.

I’ll have to look into that. I’m not a huge fan of the sights on mine. And I contacted browning about a threaded barrel and they had no idea when they would have any available
