I was paid more to stay IN the plane. I could open the ramp and cargo door from the front.

My CSM, when you are ready to go to Airborne school you let me know and we will get you a date. I never went, I heard all the not-so-great stories. Knocked out on the Drop zone, waking up in the hospital week later, no thanks..

I made 20 freefall jumps in college, until the ROTC commander told me that as I was a pilot candidate, I would immediately stop that nonsense.

There are two things I will probably never do again: flying solo and doing a jump. I deeply regret that.

If I was still single and that was the bonus prize for falling through the sky I'd be asking where the dotted line was.

I never thought jumping out of an aircraft that has the ability to land safely to be a good idea.

There must always be an adequate reward for any risk.

And jumping out of a plane deserves at least two "rewards"..................at the same time even.

It's not a good idea.

Unless there's a menage a trois involved with a couple of hotties of the bona fide female persuasion (nowadays one must make such clarifications)

I have done 3, all tandems. The first was in Mexico (who doesn't trust Mexican aircraft maintenance) and all were from 10,000 feet or so and the one in Playa Del Carmen had us landing on a topless beach. Of course all the ladies wanted to come talk to you about the jump. Good memories!

20 years in the US Army always on jump status, other than the 3 years spent as a drill sergeant. Hundreds of jumps both static line and military free fall. Jump altitudes from 350 ft AGL to 29999ft AGL. Both Airborne and Halo jump master qualified. My jump log has 20 with O2 & NVGs to include 3 combat jumps. Jumped just about every military and civilian aircraft capable to be jumped to include fixed wing and rotary. Packed my own chute and jumped that pack many times.

Always had a good jump which by definition is any jump that you are able to get off the drop zone under your own power. Had many a hard landing with various obstacles to include trees, water and urban hazards. Injured a few times, thank God nothing serious. Have been on many where men were seriously injured and a few fatalities.

Loved jumping but, once I got out and I wasn’t paid to do it anymore haven’t jumped since. If I had the chance I would volunteer again.

Yeah, baby! I made a static line jump from a Cessna 170 at 2800 ft. Good Lord was that scary!

Went back up 2 hours later and did it again.

Static line only in the military, little over 50 jumps pretty fun for the most part. Messed up a couple of ribs on one jump and tore up my ankle on another, that wasn't fun. Never did free fall, never really wanted to jump after I left active duty. I joined the Airborne to stay away from mechanized infantry.

When I flew Blind Bat missions over the Ho Chi Minh trail I thought we were going to have to jump several times.

Scared the living crap out of me. Even if I did make a safe landing, I would be deep in enemy territory in the dark!

I think all of us knew we weren't going to jump anyway!!

I seem to recall Birdies Mother doing a jump on her birthday every year now into her 90's?
