Zeiss V4 Riflescopes - A Great Choice & Priced Right

Individual realized experiences made by every hunter, while afield, are as varied as their demands on their riflescope. Knowing this enables ZEISS design engineers to develop the perfect riflescopes to meet each hunter’s unique needs. Riflescope designs must take into account the requirements of different types of hunting, terrain, rifles, and personal needs. Considerations are made in regards to weight, magnification, field of view, and handling, as well as the brightness and clarity of the image at distance. ZEISS delivers the ideal riflescopes for hunting.

The Conquest V4 riflescopes are for hunters and shooters whose lifestyle and adventures involve traditional and long-range hunting, as well as shooting and long-range shooting. They were designed as a lightweight, high-performance product line for various demanding hunting and shooting applications. They are, by any standard, 'best-in-class'.

The Conquest V4 family is based on a 4x zoom ratio, incorporates a 30 mm main tube, and consists of the: 3-12x44, 3-12x56, 4-16x44, 4-16x50, and 6-24x50 models. Each model delivers 90% to-the-eye light transmission, offers .25 MOA click values, capped windage turret or external locking windage turret, a large range of total elevation and windag travel, and various traditional and smart second focal plane reticles.

ZEISS Conquest V4 models are backed by the ZEISS Limited Lifetime Transferable Warranty AND Five-Year No-Fault Policy.

V4 3-12x44 & 3-12x56
The 3-12x44 model represents the traditional hunting scope that is lightweight, very compact in size, and with a highly useful magnification range. Whether hunting in timber, over open fields, or on the plains, this version of the Conquest V4 is an ideal fit on any traditional hunting rifle platforms. This model is available with the ZEISS #20 plex reticle. It comes standard with capped elevation and windage turrets. This scope yields a super bright image. It is sure to be an all-time favorite for hunting.

The 32-12x56 model - An exceptional riflescope for hunting in low-light and capable of taking manageable mid- to long-range shots. The 56mm objective lens diameter and illuminated reticle option guarantee aiming accuracy, even in the most unfavorable low-light conditions. If your hunting grounds keep you in the blind, on the stand, or in the field to the last moments of light, this riflescope was designed and built with you in mind. Select from two proven duplex style reticle designs: #20 plex or the #60 duplex with center illuminated dot.

V4 4-16x44 & 4-16x50

Thanks to its well-balanced zoom range, this compact riflescope is the perfect all-around scope option for short, mid-range, and long-distance shots. At the 16x setting, you can easily evaluate each detail on the animal before pulling the trigger. The 44mm objective size offers great low-light performance at lower magnification ranges, while allowing the rifle and riflescope package to maintain a compact footprint. To support long-range hunting and shooting, the scope has a side parallax adjustment and an external elevation turret with Ballistic Stop. There are five reticle options available, from duplex-style to advanced smart reticles. These include the non-illuminated #20 Z-Plex and the ZMOA-T30. Illuminated reticle options are: #60 duplex, ZBi, and ZMOAi-T30. All-new is the External Locking Windage Turret option - an industry first-in-class - and represents an excellent choice for the long-range hunting and shooting enthusiast.

Offering a maximum magnfication of 24×, this model represents the most powerful option from the Conquest V4 family. With side parallax compensation, external elevation turret with Ballistic Stop, MOA-based smart reticles, and available illumination, this riflescope is the most popular from ZEISS for longer-range hunting and precision shooting. And so it should be, as it also boasts a whopping 80 MOA of elevation travel. The External Locking Windage Turret option is an industry first-in-class, and represents an excellent choice for the long-range hunting and shooting enthusiast. Now available with five MOA-based, illuminated, second focal plane, smart reticle options: ZBR-1, ZMOA-1, ZMOAi-20, ZMOAi-T20, and ZBi. For those who prefer the time-tested duplex style reticle, this model is also now available with the #60 reticle with an illuminated center red dot. Is there ever any talk of Ziess expanding FFP offerings into the Z4 line? The 3-12 specifically.

I think there's a niche to gain by offering more hunter centric FFP's comparable to the S&B Klassik line at a lower price point.

What is funny is reading threads like the one posted in the gunwriters forums here, asking how far your typical shots are on deer and elk/big game. Most there do not shoot at game over 400 yards away, yet guys are asking for a FFP scope?? Totally unnecessary when the SFP works well out to ungodly distances. A scope where you can't see the reticle at the lowest power setting is absolutely worthless as well. The "3-12 specifically", is a hunting rifle scope. It's just fine as is in SFP form..

Well, that's like, your opinion, man.

I like to use the least amount of X that's practical for a given shot. Maintains as much FOV as possible to spot hits and see game reaction. Being on lower X allows for settling in quicker before taking the shot due to not having inconsequential movements amplified by too much X. As such, I don't care to be constrained to be at 10, 12, 15X or more to have the subtensions of a SFP reticle be what they're supposed to be. The fact that a FFP reticle measures the same at any X just makes things quicker and simpler.

As far as the reticle being unusable on a 3x FFP, there's plenty of well designed FFP reticles out there that are plenty usable at low X. I have several 3-12 LRHS that are. Likewise, the 1-6 SWFA, 3-9 SWFA and Meopta MRAD are great on low X, as well as the aforementioned S&B Klassik FFP, among many others.

Can anyone comment on the glass in these? Maybe as it compares to other high end hunting glass- like the Leupold VX5/6 lines.

At under $700, under 20oz, under 14 inches…this checks a lot of set it and forget it boxes.

Zeiss has nothing in the works at this time for an FFP version

The glass is spectacular. The mechanical performance is also superb.

What I wish they’d offer, Doug, is the excellent zero-stop equipped turret on say the 4-16’s, but on the 3-12. See what you can do, K? smile
