Renegade50: I am puzzled at some folks hesitancy and reservations about "gunshows" these days.
First off I agree that 95% of stuff at gunshows is "over-priced" thus of no interest to me.
But at the recent Bozeman, Montana gunshow "I" was the first non-table holder through the door Friday afternoon.
I am so happy I was!
I immediately found a mint perfect Remington 700 "Tactical Rifle" with a price tag of $395.00 on it! The one owner gun had been shot less than 60 times (according to the table holder) and my inspection of the bore (with bore-scope tool) and of the bolt face and the rear of the bolt lugs showed virtually NO wear/use.
The owner even had an impressive target to go with the Rifle (3 shot group at 100 yards measuring .650").
The Rifle came with Redfield two piece bases and rings and the barrel date code showed November 2,007.
Not a ding on the Rifle anywhere - I almost forgot to get my $5.00 change from the 4 one hundred dollar bills I threw at the owner!
The owner then told me that he had sold two other Rifles before the public came in (sold to other table holders) that I would have probably bought myself. he was a motivated seller and I seek these out avidly!
Then I bought a Chicago Cutlery "filet knife" for $1.00. Then I bought a first edition Jack O'Connor book for $5.00. Next to hit the trunk of my car was a really nice Bob Allen scoped Rifle Rifle case with soft inner lining for $10.00 - this superclean case probably retailed for $45.00 to $55.00 - my 20" barreled Remington 700 Tactical Rifle had way enough room to ride home in this.
The VarmintWife was shopping at the Bozeman Cost-Co while I was gunshowing so I was a bit hurried and had to leave after only two rounds of the tables.
Not to fear - I made the 105 mile trip back to the gunshow on Sunday to try and take advantage of end of gunshow pricing.
Soon I found a Leica laser rangefinder (the 1,200 yard/meter model) that was as new in the box and carrying case - the asking price was down to $295.00 and I eventually got it for $200.00 cash.
Thrilled I was as I have two other Leica laser range finders both 900 yard/meter model and this 1,200 yarder really ranges well for me. By the way I bought both of those 900 yard Leicas at gunshows at pleasing prices.
Next I found an as new in the box Leupold 4x12 variable scope with adjustable objective that was down to $300.00 asking price - after a short finagle I paid $220.00 and have a wonderful scope to put on my new to me Remington 700 tactical.
Also found two 70 year old boxes of rimfire ammunition to add to my old timey rimfire cartridge collection.
Last item I purchased was a Buck-Lite folding hunter knife that was priced at $25.00 and I got it for $15.00 - "and out the door I went".
Not only did I persevere and get some great deals I got to visit with several friends that I had not seen for some time.
That show was WELL worth the time and effort.
I hope you do as well at your coming show.
Enjoy.

Rural King has the best ammo prices I've seen. Walmart ammo is usually about as cheap, but the shelf life is usually less than an hour after they put it out. I haven't been to a gun show in probably 15 years because I hate shysters.

Lebanon show, in past, has not been worth the drive and admission.
Hopefully it wil be better for you. I am not in the market for anything right now, so I will not be going.

Alot of it is the flea market stuff and overall outragous prices and scheister types.
But if ya dont go you cant find deals from people who ain't out to azz rape people.
I have found some smoking deals on guns or firearm related stuff.

Didnt go for the longest time after 2005 ish.
Started back up 2017 ish again.

Thought I swore off em from the last one 5 or so months ago.

I just dont talk to scheisters at times if I'm looking at their stuff.
Just let em run the BS speil they all have it seems
We all can sense the type.

Bill Goodman used to have a good show in Nashvegas long ago.
Nashville went commie and dont want a gun show now.

I really wanta go to the knoxville show.

Honk for Joey gas prices is fuuucking that up.

Might go to the germantown/ memphrica show one day.

Expand out to see different variety and sellers.

Hopkinsville has a show coming up.
Different variety their last time I went.

The cave city Kentucky show was a different variety also.

That is one thing big time.

Their are some stinking azz mofo,s of multitudes of olafactory
" fragrances"

And my sense of smell ain't the best at all.
But I have been stuck around Mr. Stinky in a aisle or table congestion that ain't moving or totally blocked both ways to bail the fugg out..

Not a pleasant experience.
Have made general comments out loud .
What is that horrible smell around here.
Lots of time people in the immediate area know exactly what you are saying and will give ya that look " I know it look too".

Most times you ID " stinky" and learn to advoid the gas cloud when ya see them in another aisle or table later on and you bail outta the spot.
You see others doing the same with " stinky"

The funniest is when ya see stinky at a table and the seller you can see is wishing stinky would go away, cause people are bailing by his table cause stinky is at it...

Anyone that has been to gunshows has experienced these things often...

Some non bathing mofo,s.

Kinda like a 10 to 12ft planet of the apes forbidden zone of stench around them and people figure it out and learn to advoid that guy...

Or you keep on running into wheelchair fat guy that is not buying schit and he is on the opposite circuit direction of most of the flow.

Nothing against wheelchair guy, but he has got to know going against the flow of traffic for the most part is constantly causing congestion.

Old walker guy and I mean really old Walker guy does the same alot of times also.

Nothing against seniors or disabled types
But they seem to go against the flow alot.
Almost like on purpose just to fugg schit up.
They cant be that aloof not realizing that schit....

The gun show shysters must have a dress code...........black hat, black pants, white shirt, black bolo tie, and a black vest full of badges declaring them to members of everything from the VFW to the SOA (Shysters of America).

Plus, they all look just alike........5 and 1/2 foot tall, 120 pounds, little pencil thin moustache, and little beady eyes.

And they sure get ticked off if ya correct em nicely on a factoid they spew out that is totally wrong.
And doing it a way to enlighten them about whatever.
They take alot of offense to it.
Almost like you are calling them a liar in their mind for the totally false schitt that is flowing out of the mouth
Several times over the years I have been told please leave my table sir.
I have not done this to embarrass a seller or make them feel stupid.
Just to correct in a tactful way.
False information is bullschitt and not being able to be informed about correct information shows a persons hardheaded stupidity and schiester like tendencies for the most part

One of the reasons at times I just play like I'm totally deaf and dont even acknowledge what they are saying

They gotta realize that a person looking at their stuff acting like that around em is not a good thing or approach on their part to try and sell something.

Not always the case...
I have seen sellers on the local circuit that have talked with me and thanked me for educating em to help em at a previous show.
And wanta show me what they have aquired and ask me info about it to get schitt right.

I wont get loud for people to hear me when doing this.
That ain't right to embarrass a guy.
And I have seen that happen also.
I have gone up to tables at times after when customers ain't at it and have talked to sellers about stuff.

Scheisters are scheisters.
Sellers who wanta get schit right are sellers who wanna get schit right.

Reputation of sellers is important to many of them as being honest
Alot of sellers are known as scheisters and those scheisters know that alot of people know they are also.

Part of your reputation as a seller is knowing about what the heck you are selling and not spewing out urban legend BS or made up BS they come up with off the cuff.

Post just based on some of my interactions around the Middle Tn 150 to 200 Mile circle of shows I have gone too.

The local gunshows up here are now about half full of shรฌtty AR builders that take Anderson lowers and slap every Chinese part on em they can find, and mark em up to 1200 dollars.

And their fake companies ran out of their basement all have goofy tough-guy names like "Death Dealers Incorporated" or "Hell Demon Gunworks"

Their are ones like that around here also.
The funny part is when someone on the floor who is trying to sell one of those guns they bought is told it is a franken gun and you ain't gonna get your money out of it you want cause that was your vision and the components are common and inexspensive.

Boo Boo look of realization or offended look on the face time for the most part.

The table holders at the PA show line up a Cabelas before the weekend to buy out what they can then sell it at the show.
Not to mention the retailers picking the hobbyist table clean before the opening.

Stinky fella at Hardware City helping me yesterday. They donโ€™t like people mixing up their carriage bolts so I had to have an escort and chaperone back there in the nut n bolt holy lands.

Nice enough fella but I guess he feels itโ€™s a social norm to just release his SBD hardees omelet biscuit egg farts while weโ€™re up close and personal both digging for 1-1/4โ€ 5/16 shank carriage.

Man cmon. *Unless* he just smells like shรฎt all the time.

Bout 330lbs too, maybe itโ€™s a wiping issue. ๐Ÿคข

Have had that experience in their also.
Nut and bolt nazi.
And stinky.

Buncha toeheads from a limited gene pool.....

None of em could be a parking lot sweeper/ pigeon shooer away guy at McDonald's on their own merits.

Momma spitting them pinky,s out like a production line for cheap workers back when.
Kinda like Monty python catholic mom and the baby falling outta her twat deal in the kitchen.
"Oh my could you pick that up dear"....

Love the story of their dental coverage for them kids you told me back when.

Maybe daddy and momma never came back from rumspringa?
That's what they all remind me of.
Buncha scheming amish that went money grubbing english...

They are still trying to sell damaged merchandise in that place that was in the 2010 flood at top dollar price.
