It kind of depends on how long your right arm is and how close to the camera you get. That one does look like it has some potential though. Walleyes live a long time, up to 22 years according our DNR. In Canada as an example, the growing season is short and the forage base is smaller and the fish are older and have huge heads in relation to their bodies. You have a well fed younger fish there that has eaten very well as is typical of the fish from the Great Lakes tributaries and Lake Erie. I have a 32” and 30” Canadian walleye on the wall because they wouldn’t revive and those were older than 18 years old according to their scale rings. Big fish for Canada, but more typical for our fish out in the Bay here in the Midwest.

Depending on where you’re at, that could be a trophy or one that’s not too bad. Walleyes have done really well up here in the PNW. People don’t start to look twice until the get 10lbs or more. A 15lb fish is a trophy with fish up to 20lbs being caught. A 25lb fish was collected during a biological sample.

Don't know where one was, but the Columbia river system generates some trophies. Probably consume a few salmon/steelhead smolts on their way to the ocean.

Yessir. They did a biological survey and some real monsters got picked up. I believe one, if caught by hook and line, would have been a new world record.

They got some fish around the I-205 bridge and around Washougal. Multnomah Channel has walleyes, but it’s directly downstream of Portland….so I don’t eat them.
