When I was active duty USN we pulled into Vladivostok Russia. There were a lot of really good looking gals. I also spent an entire summer in the Black Sea on the USS Nashville LPD-13 and we pulled into Varna Bulgaria, Constanta Romania, Odessa Ukraine, Poti Georgia and Istanbul Turkey. That was a fun summer.

I met a guy who had spent a few months running a Nitrogen unit in Russia. Don't remember if he worked for Weatherford or Haliburton. He said the area they worked in had a high ratio of women to men and the women there were pretty and very eager to hook up with an American man with a high paying job. Several of his crew wanted to stay there when the job was over. He said it was easier to get laid there than a whorehouse.
