Thanks to you both. I hunted near there about16 years ago. Don't know if I'll get back, but you brought back a bunch of memories. I was a first timer. I was lucky enough to meet a fellow at Joburg Airport who had been before. He took pity on this country boy and held my hand through the process, and then bought me a Tusker! Good memories. Thanks Bfly
Be nice and work hard, you never have enough time or friends.

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

Ky221 what rifle and ammo did you use on the Tom and bull....mb I took my Model 700 in 308. I wanted to roll with something more "romantic" but at the end of the day it just checked too many boxes for me. I've been shooting it ALOT since I had it spun up a couple years ago. (though you couldn't tell by some of my misses). I didn't use a fancy bullet either. I used s regular 150g Hornady Interlock going 2800fps. I chose that bullet for a few reasons. One being that my rifle prints them into 1/2 MOA and two I had used them on deer and pigs numerous times in the past and figured they would be about perfect for ole spots. Turns out it worked well on the kudu too. Which only made it 30 yards before piling up. I remember Jan telling me the amount of damage that "the little 150" did was quite remarkable. Looks like a McMillian? Details on your rifle?
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Congrats on the beauty of a cat. Pretty cool.
Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.

Thanks to you all for the kind words. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. It was quite the experience.
MB- I'm right there with you, I started with a 700 and I'll likely end with one. They aren't perfect but I sure do like them.
LBP- specs are
700 ADL, Douglas barrels did the work. They installed one of their 10twist XX barrels (22" and factory sporter contour) on it and blue printed the action. The stock is a McMillan edge in Olive with Black and Tan Speck. Pillar and Glass bedded. Trigger is a Trigger Tech Special set at 1#. Cerekoted graphite black. Zeiss conquest 3-9 in a set of Talleys. A simple no frills hunting rig that tips the scales at 7# scoped.

At this point the only question is - when are you going back?

Did you use the 150 gr Interlock flat base or boat tail?

I was happy for you; you had a chance to go there and go hunting.
Good times.
