Airline tickets have been purchased. City Lodge room purchased. On April 10, 2023 at about 3PM Calgary time, we (the wife and I) leave Calgary on KLM. We'll arrive in Johannesburg at 920PM Johannesburg time. After immigration and SAPS, we'll try to get some quality sleep at the airport City Lodge. VIP Meet & Greet, rifle permit etc, will be handled by Air 2000 Hunter's Support as usual. Totally worth the money. We'll arrive at East London at noon on April 12th. This leg will be on Air Link. What happens for the next 2-3 days is currently undecided. We will relax and see some sights. Hunting will commence on April 16. Trophy list is not firm, we'll see what happens. I would like a sable, Barbary Sheep, caracal and common reedbuck. April 28-29 we will be back at the coast, probably at the Morgan Bay Hotel. April 30 we start the journey home. That's all I have at this time. https://www.hotfire.co.za/

Looks like a good plan! You're going to enjoy hunting with Patrick, but you already know that as a repeat client. Glad you will consider a Kudu too, they have so many fine bulls running around in those hills.

Just returned from the East Cape 3 days ago. First time there and really enjoyed it. It was strange to be hunting from a hotel directly on the beach for half the hunt.

The woketard, covtard, Fauci worshipping loser thinks like this.......let the 24HR CF judge who you are. That's my definition of pathetic. BTW....Brother Raider is/was right.....your stupidassss was/is continually wrong. jdollar, I think I saw where you said you were going over before long. What are your thoughts on getting the COVID vaccination, and are you vaxed? Sorry for the delayed response. Just saw this post. I leave in 4 days for the Caprivi via Doha, Joberg, and Kasane, then drive into Namibia. I and my wife( who has a PhD in nursing education) are vaccinated. As a retired physician, I consider anyone that is refusing the vaccine as stupid. It’s free insurance against a potentially fatal disease. Granted, the mortality rate is low, but the hospitalization rate isn’t for unvaccinated people. 85-90 % of people in hospitals due to COVID are unvaccinated. Enough said. ) The virus is now ubiquitous and will remain so forever. It isn’t going away. The days of worrying about travelers spreading it are gone. All one can do now if you want to travel outside the US is follow the rules, whether it is vax or testing prior to arrival. Right now you must have a negative Covid test to re-enter the US but that regulation is expected to be lifted in the near future. Brother Raider believes the vax does no good and is dangerous. Check the graphs in the link, especially the US graph. The evidence speaks for itself. https://ourworldindata.org/covid-deaths-by-vaccinationYou can’t fix stupid.

Sad, I try to read about a trip to Africa and all it is is personal attacks, If you can't contribute something meaningful then STFU. That simple.
Lessons lost from our youth: If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all, Substitute say for TYPE.
And these zombies line up and eat from the media’s trough

JG must have some serious mental issues. He has been doing this for years. Nothing new here. On a brighter note, I got back from the East Cape last Thursday. First time there and really enjoyed it. Beautiful country and a lot more rugged and mountainous than I expected. Plenty of the various plains game species. Bass fishing in the farm ponds was good too.

Personally....I wouldn't take the vaccine if you put a gun to my head. That's MY choice. If you wanna take the vaccine, great. Go get your jab. But don't demand others do so......And Vice Versa. Don't want it? Don't get it.
Pretty simple stuff really.

Looks like a good plan! You're going to enjoy hunting with Patrick, but you already know that as a repeat client. Glad you will consider a Kudu too, they have so many fine bulls running around in those hills. The kudu from my first trip was a gift from God, we literally tripped over it. Total elapsed time was about 20 minutes from the farm house the first morning. 47" eastern cape kudu on the ground. Last trip, we saw some similar sized bulls. Not interested. Then an unseen bull stepped out. Patrick says that's a 54" bull. We Saw it for about 3 seconds before it stepped behind another tree. Gone. We looked for it the rest of the trip but never could locate it. The extended drought in the area caused a drop in horn size and age of the bulls. They're entering their third year of regular rains (maybe a little extra rain). Patrick says the critter's have excellent feed. Its hoped that the bulls live a little longer and the pre-existing excellent genetics become prevalent again. Hotfire has taken some nice bulls this year. As For hunting with Patrick, it's like hunting with my best friend or younger brother. We have a great time and have our own hunt speak. Last trip, he had an assistant PH he was mentoring (since dismissed for non-hunting issues. Its a pity as he was married to a decent cook who quit in support of her husband. The buffoon had an ideal mentor and he blew it.) The assistant PH couldn't keep up with our dialogue as one of us can instantly change topics of discussion, yet the other knows and can follow along. Free flow conversation about nearly everything under the sun. Its great, like I say, it's like hunting with my brother. I use Skype to talk to Patrick about 20 times a year. I had considered a different PH (Ernest from Spear Safari) from northern South Africa, but when I first met Patrick and his wife Jennifer, we had an instant connection. Jennifer predicted in their convention journal that I would hunt with them. Anyways, I mention Spear Safaris because Ernest had a client with him who had hunted with Spear about seven times. I couldn't understand why he would go back to the same PH/area so many times. His reasoning was the same as I have come to understand/experience with Patrick. I have an extreme comfort level hunting with Hotfire and really can't think of hunting elsewhere without feeling disloyal. I have missed a couple of great opportunities because of that feeling. But, I enjoy my Patrick time. Jeez, this starting to sound like a bromance. Like I say, he's like a younger brother to me. Conclusion: do I recommend Hotfire and hunting with Patrick? Absolutely!

Last I heard, this is the African hunting forum, not a political forum, and the post is about a planned hunt in the East Cape of RSA. Obviously you can’t read or have never been to Africa- or both. Carry one with your off topic bullshit though. I need a good laugh.

Been numerous times to Africa. Only obvious BS is that you're full of it....covtard, libtard, faucitard, woketard moron. At least admit you have your head up your asss with regards to the jab and booster. Time to be a man, not a lying coward.

Hey JGRaider, why don’t you do everyone a favor and STFU. I, like everyone else, came to this thread to read about AB2506’s upcoming hunt. Nobody except you cares about whatever irritation you feel about JDollar. Whatever it is, get over it or at least keep it to yourself. If that isn’t possible, take an enema, it’d do you wonders.

I have usually booked City Lodge myself, but I have a new travel agent. I gave her my travel plans and not only did she book my flights, but City Lodge also. I had looked at rates etc, but did not book myself. So I can't help you. I would suspect it is a website issue and suggest you try again later. I sure appreciate only having a 5-10 minute walk from SAPS to the hotel.
Also, travel agents (at least Canadian Agents) have consistently had issues booking Airlink flights. They seem to not accept Canadian credit cards. I had to have my PH/Outfitter book the flights. If he had been unable to, i would have enlisted Anne from Air 2000/Hunter's Support.
Anne will be supplying my Meet/Greet Service, pre-approved SAPS Firearms Permit, and escort to/from SAPS to the City Lodge. It may cost a little, but I've never had an issue in the OR Tambo airport like some report. I believe that is because I'm escorted by an Air 2000 employee.
BTW, I rate the OR Tambo airport as the best I've experienced in the world (Once in the secured areas.).
The worst? Toronto hands down in my experience. It sucks bad. Major bad. I've decided I'll pay more to route through Montreal, Chicago, Minneapolis, Salt Lake, Denver, Dallas or Houston. Whichever will get me where I'm going. Toronto is just not worth it.
