I'm back in the recliner with a tube in.
The PET scan is done and the results are back. The good news is the lesion near the kidney is reduced. It could be dead scar tissue, but that's for other tests to determine.
The results are clouded in a lot of mumbo-jumbo. However. . .
I may or may not have a lesion in my lung
I may or may not have something growing in my colon.
The lung thing may just be scar tissue left over from a collapsed lung 5 years ago.
The thing in my colon may or may not be from my Metformin intake.
If you've had cancer, I'm sure you're familiar with these obscure test results that read like they came from the Oracle at Delphi. For those of you new to this game, the guy interpreting the raw data doesn't know me and the case, and he's just reading glowing spots on the scene.
My guess is that I'm going to end up with a colonoscopy due to this test result.
Am I cured? Who the F knows at this point. I'll have meetings with the surgeon and the oncologist next week. There's enough good news here that I can say with some confidence that nobody is going to be handing me a shovel and sending me out behind the barn. My goal of being in the treestand in November is still reachable.

I'm back at it again. 0900 for labs and then report to Infusion Therapy and wait to find out my current list of deficiencies. It's getting routine. Eventually, the effects of the chemo will wear off and my kidneys will come back online and my bone marrow will wake up.

The test results are back. I'm getting a unit of whole blood. Whole blood usually makes me feel marginally better.
That's not too bad. I've been walking out of these sessions feeling like crap on a stick. I finally figured out it was the bags of magnesium. I had 3 yesterday. Yikes.
I've got an appointment with the Oncologist on Monday. This will be the first time I'll get big news-- good or bad.

The unit of blood went in without problem, and KYHillChick carted me home.
I'm due back Monday for labs, a visit with the oncologist and then. . . more of the same. Wash, rinse, repeat.
