Bought a 98 Cherokee as a project-commuter . Want to add a small lift kit, 2-3". There are a lot of options out there. Do you go all out with new springs or just add the lift blocks

The only good thing about blocks is they are cheap. I would never use blocks unless it was my only choice. Even on new springs. You're talking about 20+ year old springs that probably need replacing anyway. Get the springs.

Check the brake lines at full flex after the lift. Tearing one off sucks. Especially in these newer dual circuit, single reservoir brake systems. Kinda like teenage sex, two pumps and you are done.

They are WalMart quality. Serviceable but not much else. Depending on what you are doing and how much you want to put into the the Jeep, they may be just fine. You should also be replacing tie rods, ball joints, etc. at the same time as they are probably worn and changing the angles will not be good.

BDS use to make a good kit, haven't had a lift on a vehicle for a while now so not up on current offerings. Their quality is much better than RC though and good customer support.

Did a 3" rough country lift on an 89 cherokee years ago. Just your typical coil springs, a add-a-leaf, and shocks. Nothing special, but did just fine for my needs
