I hope that Honda at least kept the automatic clutch on those 125’s because they lost the two best features, the high and low range transmission and the manual kick starter. The automatic clutch on the old 90’ and 110’s wouldn’t snub like a dirt bike with a manual clutch. Also an electric start only woods bike with a weak battery will leave you in a lurch if you can’t bump start it. They did. The new ones are a 4 speed with the auto clutch.

Well today is the day, I’m going to go pick up the kLR today. Haven’t decided if I’m trailering it or riding it home. Transportation mode depends on the weather, there’s a chance of rain today.

JMHO- I wouldn't think there'd be any question. I'd be riding it home. I never let rain bother me when riding. Thunder and lightning ? No

Wind gusts… interstate, semi trucks.. slimy pavement, 140 miles. That and I haven’t ridden in almost 4 years.

If you make the first 20 miles, you're golden. Be back like you never stopped ridding.

The fuel injection is very nice on the 2022, and the seat is really comfortable. I think I got 22 miles on it now, 4 of which the dealership put on.
It seems this bike is geared faster than my 08 model, especially 1st gear. That and wish they would have put a 6th gear in them. It reminds me of my tundra with the 4:7 rear end.
Overall it’s a tractor, it’s probably a little big for slow going, tricky trails though.
These bikes seemed better suited with the daily commuter in mind, with the occasional trail ride. A 200-300 cc would be better for more dirt oriented riding IMO.

Very nice! A buddy of mine has one (his 3rd or 4th over the years) and he has nothing but praise for the new model.

Viking--congratulations on you new bike. There is nothing like the lines of the Triumph Bonneville America.... You might be right. Though my Kawasaki W650 is close (Kawasaki actually licensed the Bonneville's engineering drawings).

I'm sure the EFI would help the KLR but I would rather they just used a good carburetor. The early seats were way too soft and I think they addressed this as well. My KLR 650 is a very good gravel road bike but a BMW R100GS I had was the best. My V-strom is just OK on gravel but very good on pavement. I'm still debating what my last bike should be. Not too surprisingly, my wife thinks that should be no bike at all. I bought a KLX 250 a couple of years back for trail riding and like it pretty well. I would really like to be able to buy a non computerized bike. GD
