When I lived in L.A., I had a very good friend, another writer, who had been a Navy SEAL, Vietnam service, who was virulently against all the illegal aliens pouring into our country. He made no secret of his opinions and posted them on the Internet. He received a death threat from some guy who said he was going to come to his house and "take him out." My friend said he posted back, "I'm not hard to find." I asked my friend if he'd told the person who made the threat he was a former Navy SEAL? He said, "No, I didn't see any reason to give up any small advantage I might have." I said, "I imagine you still remember a trick or two." He kinda grinned and said, "A couple." The guy never showed up.  L.W. There's some good advice to take away from this snippet, and something I've tried to pass along to my children. Along the same lines I've always told them since they were small children, to never tell anyone their daddy where's a concealed gun. What the other person doesn't know, might hurt them. Funny thing about discussion forums that words on a computer screen posted from strangers can elicit homicidal emotions in some.
You post something negative about someone's superhero - the emotions, expletives and insults fly.
You question someone's facts or recollections - the emotions, expletives and insults fly.
You don't find someone's dog or truck particularly attractive - the emotions, expletives and insults fly.
Some folks need to find a new hobby and spend less time on the computer.

You post something negative about someone's superhero - the emotions, expletives and insults fly.
You question someone's facts or recollections - the emotions, expletives and insults fly.
You don't find someone's dog or truck particularly attractive - the emotions, expletives and insults fly.
Some folks need to find a new hobby and spend less time on the computer. Why? Iron sharpens iron. If a computer is all you gots... well that is another matter all together.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

My favorite one of those crank calls was when a guy got a "lady" on the phone who told the crank caller her cousins name. The crank caller said yea I know Mike and he told me I could come over to your house and get some.
The lady said (loud and angry) well Mike wont be saying that no more after I get a hold of him.

The offers for these I’m going to set you straight or I’m going to prove I’m a better shot than you or whatever that person thinks they are good at.
