This 306 page book is a compilation of three novellas which are very different from one another.
The first novella is titled "Homecoming" and is about a man (an attorney) who is too stressed and leaves his home and family and goes to Central America. With the title it's easy to figure what the story is about. And it is an interesting story.
The second is titled "Strawberry Moon" and is about a young man who is on death row from a burglary gone bad. His lawyer has tried everything to stop the execution to no avail and this is the condemned man's story, and his last requests. Also interesting.
And the third is titled "Sparring Partners" and it is about the law firm named Malloy and Malloy and is primarily about the two brothers who can't stand each other and a few people around them including the father who is a disbarred attorney--he probably shouldn't have killed his wife --, and another attorney in the firm and the firm's accountant. Some legal shenanigans have occurred and money has gone overseas and whatnot. Kind of a fun read.
Hopefully you will enjoy this newest by Grisham.

My son just gave me this book which he bought at the airport on the way to Montana. Homecoming was a great read with a surprise ending; very well done. The second was about a guy on death row and his upcoming execution; this has been a frequent theme for JG. The third short story is longer and l am looking forward to it also. I think I have read almost all of JGs books over the years, most have been very enjoyable.
