Stopped in on my way home from Salt Lake. Had a request for Hatch chiles so I stopped in at the source 🙂

This place was recommended

....and if you’re in Hatch early, this place opens early, good coffee, great breakfast, local crowd.

If you've never been to the Labor Day weekend festival in Hatch, it's worth the trip. Lots of good hot sauces, etc. that won't find anyplace else. It's held in the desert outside of town and is miserably hot, but still fun if your serious about peppers. Brought back a large burlap bag full of fresh peppers and my wife's SUV smelled like dirty feet for a month or more.

I used to get mine from Hatch every year. I'd drive from Rio Rancho to Hatch and buy two big boxes. Now I have to have them shipped to me frozen. Virginia sucks.

Grajeda Farm Store, they said they ship. Didn’t find a webpage, they’re on Facebook.

There is a place on the corner where the highway makes a 90 degree turn that has the best Green Chile cheese burgers and the beans are the best.

I've gotten many a burro at the burrito place across the street from that place. When they are roasting it is incredible to watch the process they have.

We just roast our own now....

Not this time, I’m already 120 miles down the road at Cloudcroft, 9,000ft, working my way east. Here’s the main tourist strip in the rain. The Extreme Fire Danger in the Lincoln National Forest appears to have abated for a bit, at least here.

Dunno if you’re being sarcastic or not, this is the ‘Fire after all. About 560 miles from my front door, leave my street in the early morning, be at 9,000ft overlooking White Sands in the afternoon. The Great Bear restaurant on the left next to the Coors sign serves a fine breakfast.

Fifteen miles from there, Mescalero Rez, Silver Lake Campground, clean, quiet, well maintained, and unlimited really hot water in the showers for just the reasonable day use fee. Just the thing if ya ain’t showered since yesterday morning 😎

The Woods grocery stores here in MO. have raw ones now and the roasters will be here on the 19th, 20th and 21st. .
I've never frozen any but I'm going too this year. Do they freeze well? Vacuum seal?
