Nothing holding you there? Go. I retired 6 years ago. Now I have the time to hunt out of State. I would not willingly go back to work....Left town, live on a dirt road, not going back.

Son lives about 30 miles from here. But he can still visit if we move. No grand kids.

I do love our little acreage though. But we could sell, move to a new spot with similar acreage, and pay for it cash. That's the plan, anyway.

No, he said he would be getting "120% of our monthly expenses in income", not making 120% of his current income.

You'll do fine.

Just remember Buster. Don't be bringing any of your Ory gone ways with you. smirk

Congratulations! I'm going on 3 years retired. I tell people it's the best job I never had. I thought I would miss the money but we haven't missed a dime of it. I'll never forget driving home after my last day at work feeling like 1,000 lbs. of weight had been taken off my shoulders.

We were going to drive down and hit the Alvord and Steens. Still a little ways from you.

Since I started bitching plans changed. Flying to Vegas then over to Mesquite and St. George.

Steens are always a cool place to explore

Congrats- you won't miss work

Enjoy it!

We just had an inquiry-soft offer on our primary house/land in Virginia[as in yesterday] from a local developer.

Has my head spinning to be honest.

Shutter the famdamily business after 80 years[39 for me] and walk away?
Selling would facilitate the above.

Struggling, dad worked here until 80+, grandad worked here until the day he died.

Again ENJOY!
