Typical Canadian cop out, plagiarize an American Patriot themed song, change a few words and try to sell it as some sort of patriotic Canadian thing. Irks me to no end. Whoever recorded this needs a slap in the head. Do we not have the talent in this country to make our own patriotic national songs. Then again we have so little patriotism and creativity in Canada the lack of imagination is not at all surprising.
Don't get too upset. This version was sung by American Lee Greenwood. He also wrote the original, God Bless the USA. It was recorded a couple of years after the Iran hostage crisis, and he probably thought it was a nice gesture.
It's not Christmas, but this is a nice song.

That is Lee Greenwood, writer and performer of both versions in recognition and celebration of the unique relationship between our 2 countries. My wife has a CD of it with both songs. No one stole or plagerized anything. Have a great day, Jeff
