Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

I'd say it's more because they aren't allowed out to play unless Mom's right there with them. We used to get on our bikes and be gone for hours with no questions asked. Now they can't leave the garage without an escort. We didn't have computers or video games to keep us in a chair all day. We went outside and burned calories for our entertainment.

High school football teams here in Virginia have failed to muster enough players to field a team in many districts...
Fat?
Lazy?
Fear of the pox?
Emasculation of boys via/on many fronts?
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

You guessed it,
CLIMATE CHANGE. Oh, good to know. All this time I thought it was being lazy, eating junk food and playing endlessly on video games and their god damned phones.....

Don't give up hope! there are many fine youngers around. There are, but are there enough to offset the indoctrinated masses of young voters being spawned through our educational institutions, not to mention the amount of future (mostly liberal) voters now pouring through our porous borders!

I'd say the evidence points to people doing studies not being as intelligent as their parents were......

Because they sit ion their ass and play on a phone or such, Yep. I feel lucky to have grown up without video games, social media, electric scooters, etc. And a dad who grew up on a farm and wasn't about to let me sit on my ass, got me my first summer job when I was 13, pushing a lawn mower.

Because they eat a lot of food? Not necessarily good food, but food none the less.
With the way things are going maybe not in the future but for now they are gobbling it down.

Anyone who claims there is a single cause behind the obesity rate is in over their heads.
Though the argument that the primary factor is boomers ruining the food supply is pretty persuasive.

I grew up in the late 60’s, we had one B&W TV that had three fuzzy channels, one being educational schit with the likes of Don Miguel teaching Spanish. We weren’t allowed to watch TV during the day except for a few hours on Sat mornings.
Everybody was kicked out of their houses right after a healthy breakfast of sugar laced cereal and whole milk. Didn’t come home until lunch, then back out till dinner, then back out till the street lights came on.
It was hot back then as well, maybe even hotter as we had no AC and had to sleep in the basement during summer.
Kids are fat not only because they are lazy, but because their parents are also lazy and stupid.

My great grandfather was known for saying, "What is this world coming to, where our future depends on these lazy kids?" That was in 1970 and probably applies to many who post here.
I believe that each and every generation thinks they're such hard working, salt of the earth people. In reality, there are fat, lazy, and obviously dumb people born everyday and that's been happening for decades since the Industrial Revolution when machines were made and people's lives became alot easier.
Just like many of us who started our young adult lives alot differently than we live now, so will today's youth. It's called, LIFE, and it has a way of self-correcting.
Medics bury their mistakes..

Lets implement 'the green new deal' it'll get the youts in top physical condition.

the Industrial Revolution when machines were made and people's lives became alot easier. Another strong contender for a primary factor. There is an excellent book that argues the Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

Emasculation of boys via/on many fronts? Yep, noticed that. The high school at which my wife teaches has had games of all types cancelled because so other school couldn't put together a team.
