Oh, good to know.

All this time I thought it was being lazy, eating junk food and playing endlessly on video games and their god damned phones.....

Another reason we boomers didn’t grow up fat and lazy was our pantries, refrigerators and freezer were full of food, real food, food that had to be cooked and presented at a sit down table, not chucked full of schit like chips, cookies, snacks, soda, candy, and other forms of quick and easy junk.

There were no McDonalds or fast food joints, only the local A&W, going to get a burger at the A and Dubs was a treat and a rarity, certainly not an everyday occurrence.

Benember when the left was so worried about our health that they limited the size of a soda, demanded fast food joints publish calories, grams of fat and grams of sodium, got involved in the School Lunch programs demanding “ healthier” meals for our youth.

What the hell happened to that, now they preach Fat Acceptance and blame Mother Nature.

The more fat/dumbed-down/lazy less chance they'll fight the communist, more chance they'll die an early death and won't collect SS. win/win.

Exactly. Neighborhood baseball games, playing war, walking to the store, etc.. I'd only come home for meals.

Ever read "The Ransom of Red Chief"? That was us when we were kids. I'd leave the house early on my bike with my fishing pole and my best friend and we'd would be gone all day. Our parent's never knew where we were. If we'd been captured by some bad ass he'd probably have turned us over to the cops for protection. We weren't really bad but we got in to just about everything. We made guns out of 1/2" pipe with a nipple and a hole drilled in the back. Put a black cat firecracker or three in there, some wadding and a rock or two and terrorize the neighborhood cats. We dug an underground clubhouse and covered the top with plywood we found and dirt over that. Tree house and hiked for miles in pasture land. Saw a cow give birth. Built a ramp in a vacant lot to get our bikes air born. Rex borrowed the kid across the street's Schwinn bike, we'd never saw one, to go up on the ramp and when he went up the front wheel came off burying the forks in the ground. Thought he'd died right there but he came up pretty mad. The neighbor kid was pissed too. Just goofy kid stuff. I don't think kids do that stuff today.

Parents put a screen in the kids face and a bag of chips in hand to keep them occupied at 3-4,

What do you expect them to be doing at 12-18?

Exactly what they've been taught to do...

I’m a boomer, my wife is a boomer,
I am 5’10” 190 pounds with a 34” waist.
My wife is 5’3” 120 pounds
My oldest is 30 years old, he is 6’0” 180 pounds, my 34 pants are still to big for him.
My youngest is 28 years old, he is 5’10” 170 pounds and solid as a rock.

All my high school friends and their wives that are still alive fall into the same category as far as weight vs height.

I know of no fat boomers in my circle.

Fat?

Lazy?

Fear of the pox?

Emasculation of boys via/on many fronts?

Guy I was acquainted with in Florida, teacher at Votech school in Ft. Walton Bch., said they were down to 2 classes in the process of putting them together. Electrical and Solar as one and he was trying to talk lads into taking the class. < Very little interest, they asked why didn't they offer some cool stuff, like how to be a concert promoter/party organizer.
Plus a lot of things that he didn't even know what they were talking about, he said they didn't know what they were talking about. They want to be trained on how to live the good times lifestyle, no interest whatsoever in anything pertaining to work.

25 years ago you couldn't find any young person worth a damn when it came to work, and yes it's mostly the parents fault.
A friends wife had a son from another marriage, she asked me if I could give him a summer job [15 years old]. I said yes he could clean up around houses I'm building, sweep/mow grass/etc.. She said no I don't want him doing anything like that could he ride around with you and do what you do? < Her little angel [sissy-boy] was too good to pick up construction debris and throw it in a dumpster, she didn't want him to get his little pink hands dirty.

I looked him up on facebook 8-10 years ago to see what he was doing, 26-27 years old and he had his own ''skateboard team''. Had his hair Raven'ed jet-black several tattoos and had a list of the rap-music he loved. laf

That's like saying I don't know any queers, therefore queers don't exist.

"The obesity prevalence was 39.8% among adults aged 20 to 39 years, 44.3% among adults aged 40 to 59 years, and 41.5% among adults aged 60 and older.

X'ers and Boomers currently have a higher obesity prevalence than millennials with a higher propensity among X'ers.

Mexico is number 1 in childhood obesity. I think eating carbs has a lot to do with it, a lot of it pure sugar. Notice what the fat mamas and fat kids have in their grocery carts.
