I see plenty of obese people every day. I also see far more very fit people than I did in the '70s and '80s. I need to practice seam work so I climbed Serenity Crack in Yosemite yesterday. Saw 0 fat people on it and surrounding routes. Every one was reasonably fit actually. Down in the valley there were a lot of unbelievably fat people though, so it depends on where a person hangs out.

JFC just go to Walmart and then you'll realize that a 170# female is the exception. Most are way over 200# and completely gross. No I'm not exaggerating.

They don't exercise, they don't eat right, they load up on junk food and excessive carbs and all they want to do is play on their phones and computers. Most can't throw a football or hit a baseball. I teach HS and even though they are "required" to take a gym class that has become a 10 min period of stretching and then being told to do something for the rest of the period and most immediately sit down and pull out the phones. Today's youth is the least physically active generation in history.

I'd say it's more because they aren't allowed out to play unless Mom's right there with them. We used to get on our bikes and be gone for hours with no questions asked. Now they can't leave the garage without an escort.
We didn't have computers or video games to keep us in a chair all day. We went outside and burned calories for our entertainment. Exactly. Neighborhood baseball games, playing war, walking to the store, etc.. I'd only come home for meals. Yep.
