I’ve toted this thing since I was 8 years old it has killed an ark load of squirrels and far more skeet even managed a turkey or two

Don't use any guns from my childhood, onward and upward mostly.

I had a Winchester Model 63 that my dad got brand new for Christmas when he was a boy. That was a great rifle. It was stolen from me in Tyler, TX in 1990. I still have an original Winchester Model 94 that my grandfather won brand new on a punch board in the late 30’s in Flour Bluff, TX when he entered my grandmother’s first name (and he won).

Remington 511 Scoremaster 22.I got it for Christmas when I was 11, so I've had it for 61 years. I still use it for squirrels and other such critters. I even shot a deer with it once.......long story. It is still one of most accurate rifles I've ever owned of any kind.

My first .22, a Marlin model 989M2. Still have it, still shoots good and I still use it regularly for rabbits and squirrels.

My old Ithica 37, 20ga. It was old when I got it at 12yo. The belly of the receiver and rear of the magazine have been worn peuter by my hand. I'm strangely proud of that. Took a squirrel with it last January just to take it for a walk. First in a long time.

I still have my first gun, a Marlin 336 30-30 I got when I was 8.

I still have my 62.

Model 12 20 gauge, 26 inch improved cylinder. Added good wood and a Simmons rib.

Papaw's 1968 Winchester 101. Followed very closely by a 1967 Charles Daley u/o.

Most likely a Colt single action and a lever action Winchester…

The firearm I've had the longest is a Browning B-80. Though probably not my favorite, I do like it.

Western Auto, Revelation .22 magnum, made by Mossberg.

Had it since I was about 5.

It has accounted for more jackrabbits and coyotes than I can remember.

Still shoot it every once in a while.

My Savage 220 single shot 20 gauge.

My dads Ruger Single six that he bought in 1968. Who knows how many crates of 22’s have been shot thru it.

Winchester Mod 37 red label 12ga single barrel. My granddad gave it to me in 1970.

I scrimped and saved my .50 cents per week allowance and bought a Stevens single shot .22, next was an H&R topper single shot 12 ga. both were junk and long gone.

Colt 1911. Accept no substitutes... unless it's a Les Baer 1911, then accept it.

Mine would have to be a Remington Sportsman 58 my Grandpappy bought me in 1959 when I was 7 years old. Still got it, she's a 20 gauge, have taken many a bird with that shotgun and it's taken some doing to keep her running at times with the leather gas seals and the funky double gas ports that criss cross in the forearm rings. The 58 was the forerunner to the 1100 ... beautiful shotguns you just have to know how to keep them cycling, and I do.


That would be my second favorite. It is a 1941 Featherlite in 20 and it was my Grandpappy's favorite shotgun. I used-to feel sorry for Dove and Partridge when he was out there with that thing ... or rabbits or squirrels. It has the slam fire mechanism where, as long as you hold the trigger down while full stroking, she'll keep poppin-em-off. I have several M37s now but I've sold most of my collection off.


Killed my first buck at 8 with a 336 in 30-30 and I've still got that rifle.
