Wood or Aluminum ?what baseball bat is best to keep around home or in car for self defense ,for less than lethal defense or gun jams ,?wood is heavy and swings slow , but has striking mass .aluminim is light so can swing faster and more times, which is recomended?been thinking of one to keep at front door after that drug head tried to kick my front door in

Humph! Now that you mention it, my wife has one at home and the cabin in her corner. Both wood and old. Just happy she hasn't swung on me yet.

If you have no training with impact weapons it probably makes little difference.
If you do ...then it makes NO difference!

If you’re going to use a wooden bat make sure that when you swing the label is up. If you don’t, be prepared to finish the fight with what amounts to a 1-2’ wooden knife.

Being wood is an insulator, it makes a good taser defense.

Wood after you finish, you can toss it in the fire and loose the evidence

Unless it has iron spikes in it, I say FORGET IT.
I once watched a store surveillance video where some big buck comes in and tries to rob a couple of Asian guys running the store. He threw funky Billy Chin down and was pounding him into a fine powder. Little Sammy Chong goes and grabs an aluminum ball bat and begins wailing on the Piece Of Color's head. Hard. You could tell he wasn't holding back. And every hit was right on the top of the oppressed, misunderstood minority's little cranial dome. Did not faze him. FINALLY, after many hard hits, our poor, victim of racism decided he had enough, and got up and walked out the door.
Now, he may have fallen down dead in the parking lot 30 seconds later, I don't know. I do know that stupid ball bat wasn't enough to stop him from having his way for quite a while.
A wooden bat MAY be "better", but honestly, I wouldn't trust it either.
