The press is new to me, will be used to match upto my other. 1 set for large primes, 1 to be set to small primers.

But, my old press has been mounted on a strong mount for at least 20 years. I'm shocked at the prices these days, but have done some searching.

I found 2 alternatives.

Ultramount press riser system at https://inlinefabrication.com/products/ultramount-press-riser-system-for-the-dillon-550

and

a Lyman Universal Press Mount stand (it mentions the Dillon 550 down in the 'Features and Benefits' on the Amazon webpage. Sorry it wouldn't let me cut n paste.

Has anyone used either of these stands, if so what did you think?

Thanks

I used a couple chunks of 6x6 post with 2-3 pieces of 2x6 board attached. I lag bolted the contraption up through the table and did the same to the top to attach the press. I ended up with a slightly lower height which fits the stool I sit on better. It's gone a decade so far and I use the press regularly.

I suspect a similar unit could be made of 2xX lumber of the desired height made into a box. I would add 1 or 2 boards to the inside for greater strength.

Wow. So many options.

The Lyman one has just about as many reviews, but they're shorter and ... a little vague-ish.

I am currently using the inline products and find them to be excellent quality! You will appreciate the add-ons, but go slowly with adding them until you are sure of the configuration you really want.

I use inlinefabrication mounts for my SDB and my Lee Classic Turret. I really like the mounts.

Another vote for Inline Fab. The height options are nice. Beware of the add-on powder measure bracket though. It's kinda wonky for anything other than ball powders.

Looking at pictures of the Lyman it appears that it may be manufactured by Inline Fab. If not it's pirated. Same/same design & assembly.
