It has dragged. The whole month. We’re 75% packed and ready to move. Closing on our house tentatively 9/15. Stuck in that limbo stage between homes waiting to close on one to move to the other.

Didn't you already move - about a year or 2 ago?

We’re headed in the same direction. Listing ours this weekend but we’ve already sorted, dumped and given away what needed it and had 2 folks ask if we were selling while we were still having upkeep done. And there’s a lot of boxes packed. If it sells quick the keeper stuff may get stored while we live in the travel trailer. Be grand when it’s over won’t it.

That was three years ago. We ended up not moving at the time. I was still working on the slope and Etta was in the early stages of her illness. She was very apprehensive about being alone in an unfamiliar area for two weeks at a time. There were a couple of other significant stumbling blocks that prompted us to stay.

I’ve since retired to be home with her. There is essentially one good specialist in Alaska for her. It take 9+ months to get an appointment with him. Where we’re moving to puts us within three hours of five good sized cities with good medical care. And last winter was really hard on her. It kind of wore me out as well.

Additionally my mom is still in eastern Washington and my brothers and sisters are all back East. She has no desire to be back there. She’s 84 in a few weeks and in great health but that can change any time at that age. It’s time to bring our Alaska adventure to a close and begin our Idaho adventure.
